Jacobs APAC Energy and Power business is at the forefront of the global energy transition, embracing unprecedented opportunities to drive sustainable change. Our team is currently looking for a Power Engineer to join our High Voltage Substation team in Auckland.

As a Power Engineer in our High Voltage Substation team, you will provide consulting and engineering services within the Transmission & Distribution sector across the APAC region, with a core focus on New Zealand. You'll have the opportunity to assist with Substation engineering and design across a variety of power projects, including:
- Primary and secondary design for transmission and distribution systems (from 22kV to 500kV).
- Collaboration with other technical disciplines (civil, structural, geotechnical and others).
- Contribute towards workhour estimates and proposals under guidance.
- Project Management of small projects.
- Assist with developing and maintaining key client relationships.
- Receive mentorship and development to grow within your area of speciality.
Here's what you'll need
Collaborate as a Power Engineer under the direction of the Lead Engineer within multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
Support the development of Primary plant layout and equipment location (clearances, maintainability, operability).
Ability to Interpret and produce electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for electrical systems up to 220kV.
Complete rating of plant and equipment and conductors.
Manage lighting design and report preparation.
Complete protection, metering and control schemes, protection panel layout and control room arrangement.
Familiar with CAD software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD along with efficient excel skills.
Display effective communication skills when liaising with colleagues and clients.
