great people, purposeful work, talented engineers, but could do better by its people

      Pros

awesome people to work alongside, vision of the company makes you feel like you're really working towards incredible change in the healthcare space, theres so many talented people to learn from.

      Cons

goal posts move a lot so it's hard to feel like you're making headway. execs still have a tight grip on a lot of decisions and approvals which make it harder for middle management to have autonomy. benefits are very much the legal minimum and theres a sense that they dont worry too much about making this better for their people which is surprising in such a competitive market.

      Pros

The health industry is growing fast. Orion Health is benefiting from Covid globally. Good people and good working culture and life work balance. Paid above average

      Cons

The company has been suffering for many years financially. Keep losing good people. The leadership problem has never been resolved. Old technologies and complicate legacy code

      Pros

Culture is awesome, everyone is always willing to get stuck in and help out, and it is such a kick working with people who are passionate about what they do. Orion Health also really cares for staff and constantly strives to stay ahead of the game in benefits/rewards/initiatives for everyone! Summer Friday's (half day every Friday from first week of December until end of Feb) is just the newest one to note!

      Cons

      Can't think of any cons!

      First job for desparate graduates

      Pros

No sales results in the brightest and the most ambitious software engineers leaving and relatively static products - you do not get to build big chunks of functionalities or products and it is just daily maintainance job. Good for graduates to learn the ropes.

      Cons

low salary low morale software engineers leaving in droves lack future direction

      Cons

None that I can think of right now.

      Great culture

      Pros

The culture at Orion Health is great, I have a fantastic team that has a great balance between getting our work done and having fun. There are activities and events organised by the company to encourage company culture. The flexible working hours and ability to work from home is really great, it allows for a good work-life balance. There is a great variety of work and support for professional development. There are opportunities to grow your personal skills if you identify this need and request support. For the most part you have the freedom to independently manage your workload, priorities and drive initiatives.

      Cons

You need to be flexible, there are a lot of quick changes of direction and snap decisions made that greatly impact the path of the company and your personal workload. Your expertise and knowledge as a professional is not always recognised, respected, or taken into account by higher management. Career opportunities in the field of Graphic Design are limited within this company. In other fields there is more opportunity for growth.

      Misled from the Top

      Pros

You could make a difference to healthcare outcomes, if you were allowed to.

      Cons

Mismanaged from the very top, Ian doesn't know what he's doing, interferes with every aspect of operations making things worse.
