Pros

LMG - Specifically Systems Innovation - the integration portion of the company, has some really cool projects. They don't really deal with the mass-produced conference room after conference room after boardroom style integration that many other integration companies focus on. They actually enjoy one-offs and challenges. In the beginning, they made a lot of promises that sounded nice. I heard good things heading in... maybe it was the pandemic that caused my negative experience, but after talking with lifelong employees that I became friends with, it sounds like my experience was par for the course. To be continued in the Cons section...

Cons

I was hired to do engineering "leading into" project management. I was told I would wear many hats. As I have much experience in both IT and AV in the field as well as being a project engineer, from director level (IT) to the P.E. job in commercial AV, and having worked at startups for high-profile clients, I was more than prepared for this. I started during the pandemic. "This is fine," I thought. They started me 100 in project management, even though that wasn't initially what I was told I was being hired for. Not a big deal, except they had ZERO projects for me the first month. The quarantine wasn't helping, but you can only work on something when it.. well, exists to be worked on. After continuously trying to be useful, I finally got a chance to shine when a very high-profile client's EXTREMELY unique (think one of a kind) project was being built in the old Tonight Show studio in Burbank, CA. I was asked if I would be willing to travel to Burbank (during the absolute peak of the quarantine) for a week to PM on-site and do step in on some engineering tasks, as well. Even though my health insurance wasn't active, yet, I jumped at the chance. So, with one day's notice, I hopped on a plane and started living in a hotel in Burbank. The project had been very sloppily handled before me and considering the manufacturing was from a Chinese company that had initially planned on sending two individuals over to help with the build process, but couldn't due to Coronavirus bans on flight. Nevertheless, we persevered. I ended up living in that hotel an entire month, arriving on April 23rd and leaving on May 23rd. The project was an overwhelming success and the client loved it. I should note I worked EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Sometimes as late as 11:00PM, making sure the crew had everything they needed and just to show them I had their backs as the PM. I took 0 days off in the month. I knew things were bad with the pandemic and I wanted to prove my loyalty. I came back and was praised. The client liked the project so much they wanted to try doing another smaller version in another location. I was asked by my manager to be the PM of the new project. I don't believe there is a better indicator of performance than the fact that I was being asked to head this new multi-million dollar project due to my success. After all, if I had done a poor job, they could always get rid of me... not praise me and hand the next gig to me. I knew the company wasn't doing well, because my project hadn't started yet and I had nothing to do again until it did. I was worried and asking for tasks on a daily basis only to be told there wasn't much available to do. So I started coming up with ideas I could pitch for products LMG could market; something they had begun doing to make ends meet during the quarantine. However, my emails asking how I could make these pitches and show some value to the company went unanswered. Finally, I scheduled a meeting with my manager so I could ask the question face to face and find out how to pitch these products. At the meeting I REQUESTED.... he shows up with HR and they say, "Your 90 days are coming up and we've decided it's not a good fit, so we have to terminate you." Really? Was it a good fit two weeks earlier when you were willing to hand a 5-10 million (possibly more) dollar project over to me? Was it a good fit when I did network engineering and saved you from some major headaches on your poorly planned project because I happened to have a decade of IT experience and you had not even purchased the software licenses for the computers you were installing? I would have been absolutely fine with them saying, "we are in a bad spot and can't afford to keep you." After all, they had literally told us in meetings that if we lost a certain client right now the entire company would go under. That's understandable. It sucks, but is understandable. But this was different... this was a termination... and for NO reason. I couldn't get anything else out of them... ... then I realized what had happened and how these thieves operate: They had to say I "wasn't a good fit" because then they could get part of their recruitment fee refunded from my poor recruiter, who did a fantastic job. I spoke with two former employees who confirmed that they had a history of doing this. One of them had been there almost two decades and said, "I thought they were over that.. years ago we used to joke about making it past the 89 day mark because they pulled that stunt so often, but they had stopped." Welcome back to the good old days, where shady people throw good employees under the bus to save a dime. I WORKED 30 STRAIGHT DAYS FOR YOU DURING A PANDEMIC AND HELPED SAVE YOUR COMPLETE MESS OF A PROJECT AND AFTER PRAISING ME YOU PUT A TERMINATION ON MY RECORD TO SAVE A LITTLE CASH? LMG has zero integrity. Next time, be honest. Don't insult an employee's work that you had previously been praising just because you can't afford to keep them. In all honesty, I'm not sure the company will be around in 6 months, but if they are my feelings won't change. I would have had no hard feelings had they simply been upfront and honest... but trying to change the past and gaslight me? That's just pathetic. Bonus points: When I pointed out that I had been successful when not even doing what I was initially hired to do my manager asked, What were you hired for?" Fair question, as I had only told him at least 5-10 times. "If you don't even know what I was hired for, after being repeatedly told, is it a reflection on YOUR work or MINE? Rant over. Don't work here. Oh, and one-offs run into problems... that's why you don't make as much on them - you can do them, but support them with "boring" jobs... that's how you make money and can afford to keep employees, geniuses.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback. We are disappointed that your employment with LMG Systems Innovations did not work out. Being let go from any position must be very difficult and we regret that any ambiguity in your separation is adding to that. The decision to terminate anyone is not taken lightly, there are many factors that are weighed and measured to make sure that there is alignment with the individual and the company to make sure that it is a right fit. Like most companies, we have a process of a 90-day introductory period for employment. During that 90-day introductory period all aspects of performance are monitored and evaluated to identify if there is potential for a continuously / mutually beneficial relationship. While we typically do not address specific claims related directly to employee relationship, we are compelled to regarding the recruiter fees. LMG has strong relationships with recruiters and the decision to continue employment with any candidate has never had any influence based on outside recruiters or recruitment fees – and directly within this scenario the window for the recruiter was 60 days and not 90, therefore the recruiting fees were not subject to change.

Pros

Great talent and clients. Great long term opportunity for growth, learning and leadership. Can be stressful and rewarding at the same time.

Cons

Management is self serving and protectionist. Owner is awesome and I feel he doesn't know that upper and middle managers are in need of a revamp.

Pros

-The people are fun -Customers can be awesome (from Pop Stars to Neurologist Conferences) -Good IT team -Good benefits package (bus pass or parking included w/ decent health package) -Lots of employee training options and classes (I learned how to use pivot tables!) -Better-than-most inclusive environment with a fair amount of women in leadership. Well, at least not a total white guy boys club at the top. LGBTQ+ folks still kinda keep to themselves about their identities though and only come out to a handful of folks.

Cons

-Sometimes the customers are actively promoting things you may not believe in (Political events, manufactures of controversial products, or music acts) -Trouble attracting talent with competitive pay -Trouble KEEPING talent with competitive pay increases -Unable to hire or keep folks as a result and more work gets piled on those remaining -A LOT of meetings with folks from small offices from London to San Jose -Sales team does not get a great work/life balance and Ops experiences the same when things get even a bit busy

Pros

The leadership at LMG encourages growth, both personally and professionally. While there is a very serious culture around delivering on time and to the customers expectations, LMG is full of people who care deeply about what they do and who they work with. There are no shortage of ideas and the creative nature of this industry is in full swing here. If you care about doing a great job you will go far in this company. The level of customer LMG works with is amazing and challenging.

Cons

When any company grows rapidly there are inevitably going to be growing pains. LMG is experiencing some massive growth right now and it's challenging keeping up. Right now there are a lot of tough lessons being learned as processes and people get moved around to make LMG a better company. Change takes time and patience.

Pros

- Technicians are some of the best. - Many talented directors and managers - unfortunately CEO's tendency of micromanaging creates a domino effect of frustrations among leadership. - Great equipment

Cons

- No job stability - Company is disorganized. - Pay is far below industry standard, and staff is kept at a minimum. - Lack of leadership or direction from top executives. - Turnover rate is extremely high - employees walk on eggshells with a looming fear of being fired at any moment. - Be prepared to kiss up to the CEO and COO or your time at LMG will be very short-lived.

Pros

None. I cannot think of one positive item to list about my experience working here during my time I was employed on my first day until the moment I submitted my notice to management.

Cons

Not sure where to even start here. First, the pay is nowhere close to industry standard and not a livable wage. They offer a 401k program as a selling point during the hiring process, but once you are eligible after 90 days that's when they tell you there is no employer match due to "Covid." Extremely toxic and hostile work environment with little to no leadership or proper training in place. Management will continuously offer you empty promises and lead you to believe there is growth just to keep you around. Very high turnover which made many departments and positions difficult to complete tasks. The HR department is beyond dysfunctional and will ignore situations involving managers who exude negative, antagonistic, and bullying behavior just because of the employees status or hierarchy. They will cater to that problematic employee regardless of the situation and their repeated hostile behavior during these incidents, while also turning a blind eye to it. These actions would highly be considered harassment or retaliation at any other respectable company. This place is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. I would like to add despite LMGs promoting and advertising of inclusiveness and values, my often exposure to management openly discussing other staffs bodies and body parts in a sexual manner, using foul slurs referring to a specific groups sexual orientation, and also negative comments towards and about women, specifically concerning their gender, was quite shocking and disappointing. I would not recommend this place of work as it felt very unsafe a majority of the time.
