Pros

Yes you read that right, HR WILL delete this review in order to maintain their 'amazing' super high Glassdoor score. They've done it in the past to others. In terms of actual pros, the only thing I can think of is that they hire decent people, so you will bond with and make friends for life with the other poor people who have to suffer through the chaos and awfulness that is Kerv.

Cons

Oh boy, where do I start? • This company knows how to talk the talk but have zero idea how to walk the walk. "Customer first"? Kerv claims to put customers first, but the reality is different. Many customers are actively ripped off, though a few subcompanies do genuinely care about providing good service. • Work/Life Balance: The company talks about supporting mental health and rest, but in reality, many employees work late nights and weekends every month due to chronic understaffing, especially if you're not in a flashy department like sales. Expect to get signed off for stress regularly. • Promotion Practices: Getting promoted here is all about playing favorites. If you're in the inner circle, you'll get better opportunities and more leniency, even for questionable behavior. • Privacy Invasion: Be prepared for your private conversations and activities to be monitored and used against you. Management keeps tabs on everything, even WhatsApp chats and lunch conversations. They’ll actively use these against you as punishment. • Unrealistic Deadlines: You'll often face impossible deadlines. Offering sensible advice gets you ignored or removed from projects, and trying to be realistic might eventually push you out of the company. • Silencing Dissent: Kerv aggressively manages its Glassdoor reviews, deleting anything below 4 stars. Only select employees get the "Great Place to Work" survey, making their accolades dubious. • Sexism: Gender discrimination is rampant, particularly against female senior managers. Despite talking about diversity and inclusion, most leadership roles are held by white men. • Blame Culture: Management frequently throws employees under the bus to cover their own mistakes. They often lack the knowledge to perform their duties and refuse to admit it, passing their responsibilities onto new staff without proper guidance. You WILL get sacrificed on the altar of “I screwed up but I need to cover my back!” TL;DR: Do apply to work at Kerv if you enjoy and excel at backstabbing, office politics, and Machiavellian shenanigans (If you know what Machiavellian means without Googling it, why are you applying here, you're too smart for this place. Please, you deserve better). If you really must apply to work at Kerv, don't apply for Kerv, go to one of the subcompanies. The legacy companies are much nicer, caring and supportive. You'll be better looked after there, and have the chance to get promoted off the back of someone else's work from the main branch, so better money and less work - win win. Don't apply here if you value and respect yourself as a human being.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We are happy to hear that you have built friendships during your 5 plus yrs with us. We are sorry that your experience for working for Kerv was less than you had hoped. We genuinely care and strive to make Kerv a Great Place To Work and are proud that we have achieved this independently assessed award for the last 2 years. We know that we can always improve on all matters whether increasing our diversity, building an inclusive environment with a strong sense of belonging. We do recognise our teams can be stretched, and we have an open culture and tools available for an employee to be able to raise any concerns (anonymously) at any time. As you will know from your time at Kerv, most of our staff choose to complete a weekly pulse survey to tell us (anonymously) how they are feeling and what their experience of working at Kerv is like. It’s this feedback that has helped develop a culture that we are proud of, although we’re very sad to hear this was not your experience during your time with us. Pros

You meet some really good people you can build lifelong friendships with!

Cons

There are too many to list but I will try: 1. Firing/ demoting women and replacing them with men in some of the teams 2. HR colluding with managers to bully employees 3. Using your personal life against you to make you feel like you’re disloyal 4. Diversity and inclusion is all words and no action. 5. Team members are overworked, there is no work/life balance and some people routinely work 7 days a week to fix mistakes 6. No investment in employees! Promises career progression courses and going back on their word routinely 7. Pushing out especially women of colour! At least 4 women of colour have left in the last 4 months of this year. 8. HR are SO unprofessional and untrustworthy 9. Your mental health will suffer at this place!

Pros

Hiring is based on you as a person for the SOC Team. This makes the people you work with enjoyable to be around.

Cons

Upper Management don't have a clue on how to run a healthy business. Overselling their product against the designers wishes. They lowballed our team when the minimum wage went up. One of our now former team asked for a fairer wage, and then about a month later he was fired without reason. Another of our team has recently left after management went after him for a silly mistake. A lot of us have concerns and the vibe has severely decreased. I certainly don't want to be here after our most talented quit and the nicest guy in the office was fired.
