Amazing company culture/growth opportunities, managers that work WITH you

Pros

I've been at a few digital marketing agencies and I haven't seen management training as helpful as it is here. BluShark takes the extra steps to make sure Managers are properly trained on how to dive into team and personal obstacles, the managers here actually work with you on your goals and want you to voice concerns. The company culture is amazing, in-person shark summit twice a year, friendship fridays, department games and clubs. I feel like I have a path for growth laid out and am comfortable speaking up when I have an idea or want to change up a process. Everyone is also super friendly and helpful when you don't know or want to learn something.

Cons

It's an agency so it's fast paced, some people thrive in that environment and some don't. Not every process is 100% built out and structured

Pros

Hands-off approach to management, very clear and direct explanations of the workflow and quick responses to important questions

Cons

Hands-off approach also means small coachings, which in and of itself is a pro IMO

Pros

The culture at BluShark is one of their strongest attributes. I came in as a Digital Marketing Fellow, and I found immediately that everyone is willing to drop what they're doing to help you learn how to do things on your own and build your confidence. I feel supported and I've easily made so many friends at work. BluShark hires people who are not only excellent marketing pros, but are also fun people who are always willing to collaborate. The management regularly checks in on not only your day-to-day work to make sure you're supported, but they consistently ask about career goals, which shows how dedicated they are to investing in the whole employee by helping them grow in every area.

Cons

The office space is a little tough to find on the outside if you've never been, but once you're inside you get to see how awesome the in-person location truly is.

Pros

The company culture is great and management cares about employees.

Cons

Clients can be demanding and it can be hard to prioritize tasks between them. The workday is also 9-6 instead of 9-5 or 8-5.

Pros

Met great coworkers that I am still friends with to this day. CEO was great - he looked out for folks and tried to build a positive community.

Cons

Long hours, terrible pay, middle management bullied employees. Start up culture vibes (in a bad way).

Pros

As a member of the recruiting team it's been amazing to work cross functionally with all of the department leads and hiring managers at BSD to help expand all teams. The people here are genuinely supportive and collaborative, there are so many opportunities to share ideas, be involved in company culture iniatives and grow as a team. We also use EOS so our management training has been extensive and it's been exciting to watch teams build out individual paths for growth for all employees.

Cons

No big cons, it's definitely a fast paced environment if you're on the client side of things

Pros

Management is open to new ideas and almost always willing to try new ideas out (work or social-related). Trust in employees has grown exponentially over the past few years. Company growing quickly. Significant effort to sculpt leaders and managers in the company and give them the resources needed for themselves and their teams. SO many awesome benefits, like fun clubs, happy hours, agency days, the list goes on! Lots of one-on-one time with managers and they care.

Cons

Work until 6:00PM, which is kind of late to do every day.

Pros

Everyone buys in. This is a company that is out of the startup phase and into the young company phase, meaning the attitude is positive, and the goal is to improve, no matter who you talk to. Management is open to ideas on how to help work-life balance and streamline internal processes as we rapidly expand. There is a tight-knit feel, especially for local/hybrid employees. The company has biannual summits so everyone can meet, which helps with team chemistry. Our websites also work well, generating more leads for most clients, so we can hang our hats on a fantastic product we put out.

Cons

The company is scaling rapidly as new folks are hired, new clients are onboarded, and new silos are pursued. There are growing pains, which are to be expected. We sometimes bring in more clients than we are built to handle, so prioritization is crucial. The jobs also pay around the marketing industry standard, which could be higher.
