Pros

The fellowship program is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in gaining fundamental experience in SEO & digital marketing. I worked remotely and still felt a connection with (and support from) other fellows, my supervisor, and members of teams across the company. You can also choose how often (if at all) you want to come into the office. The best part of the fellowship program is that there is support and guidance every step of the way if you're a collaborative learner, and still ample opportunity for independent work--if that's how you work best! You will be a part of SO many different projects-- blog writing, back-end website building, client-facing calls, social media posts, data analysis, monthly reports... the list goes on. Based on what piques your interest, you eventually have the opportunity to specialize in a specific department. Also, the company is super flexible about taking time off when you need. I can't say enough good things about this program.

Cons

It is definitely important to note that BluShark's clients are predominantly law firms and plastic surgery offices. You do not have to have prior knowledge about these verticals (I certainly didn't) but I think it's super important to keep in mind!

Pros

There is a lot of growth possible as a college fellow and they encourage working with your strengths to find a place for you within the business. It is a modern environment, so not only is there an emphasis on good work, there is an emphasis on taking mental breaks with ping-pong, coffee, or the occasional pizza party. As a fellow, I came in expecting a semester-long job, but I extended my position for a following semester due to how much I loved every aspect of the position. They treat everyone as a part of the family and treat you as an equal regardless of your comprehension of marketing or SEO work. There is no one at BluShark that wouldn't stop what they are doing to help you fix a problem, or at least find someone who would be a better help than themselves, and this shows in the company culture.

Cons

The hours for full-time can be longer than other jobs, but with the ability to step away from the computer every once in a while for a mental break, this does not affect me as much as I had thought it would.
