I’m glad you see an opportunity to make a lot of money here at Talend, and believe we have the market, product, and comp plans to give everyone a great opportunity. But I’m sorry to see that you have a number of misconceptions that are making you unhappy here at Talend. Let me address them here. First, the rumors you cite of lowering the reviews of people who gave feedback to the external consultant we used for our employee survey are completely false. In fact, we specifically designed the survey to be 100% anonymous, so the consultants are the only people in the world who know who gave what feedback. Second, we’re doing exactly what we discussed at the town hall in relation to the feedback: we’re working with the exec team, with the global sales & CSM leadership, and a couple other specific people around the company where we believe we can have the biggest impact this year with increased collaboration and communication to internal teams and customers. So far I’ve seen and heard very positive feedback about the impact these projects have had. Third, our attrition rate is low, better than the industry average, so with occasional exceptions where we lose good people who I’d rather see stay I’m happy with how that’s going. And finally, there’s no stack ranking used in our review process anywhere. The closest thing we have any place in the company is the sales leaderboard in salesforce.com which shows on a real-time basis where reps rank in terms of new ACV achievement and pipeline build. This is common practice with well managed sales teams (and cheered on by the top reps because they see where they stand). Going forward I encourage you to reach out to your direct manager or the leadership team with any further concerns. I promise you your input will not be detrimental but viewed as positive contribution to helping Talend continue to improve.
