Pros

Met great people and they threw a fun holiday party.

Cons

- Forter watches Glassdoor reviews closely and every time there is a critical review, magically a glowing review will pop up. This company does not deserve to be in the 4 star range at this point. If you’re considering a role, go find ex employees on LinkedIn to get the real story. Even many current employees would agree with their synopsis. - They play favorites here. This is demonstrated in lack of equitable success across the board in sales and in who they promote/keep around in management. - DEI efforts specifically related to gender equality have turned out to be very shallow. They will have some stars to point to in effort to prove me wrong but there are some disturbing patterns under the surface. - This place is not sales friendly/sales centric at all and sales people are made to feel like idiots at every step in the sales process. - The comp plan absolutely sucks. You won’t get fully paid on any deal you’re lucky enough to close until it has been fully implemented, and meanwhile the implementation team is completely understaffed and these implementations don’t tend to go smoothly. - TONS of internal meetings to jam up your calendar. They need to keep people busy somehow since net new business is so hard to come by. Lots of micromanagement of activities while leadership still doesn’t really understand how to go to market with Forter so they offer no valuable advice when it comes to improving the outcomes of your metrics they’re scrutinizing. - Forter is proud of the fact they “haven’t had layoffs” but they managed to can the commercial team (save like 2 ppl), and quietly manage several people out without backfilling them… but hey “not a layoff.” - Your success is 100% dependent on your account list and it’s incredibly hard to tell on the surface if your accounts are any good because the ideal customer profile is so narrow and executives often don’t prioritize issues related to fraud and will delegate this strategy down the stack. - Very minimal lead gen support from marketing. You will be an SDR for 18 months until they finally start to push you out. - I cannot overemphasize the length of the sales cycle here: 12 months to close a new logo is being generous. - If you’re going to work this hard, go do it at a place with some actual upside and a non-toxic culture.

We do pay close attention to Glassdoor reviews; but not (as implied) to manipulate our rating, rather we treat reviews as important feedback. We recently completed our semi-annual employee survey, and 86% of employees said they would recommend Forter as a great place to work; 89% of employees noted they are proud to work at Forter. While this review (and experience) is not the norm at Forter, we appreciate your feedback and won't discount it; we'll look for ways to improve how we support our sales team and operate as a company.

Pros

(I did not wrote my exact role, as I want to keep it anonymous) 1) WOW, they do invest in developers 2) They have a large team of developers. 98% of the developers will not feel alone there. 3) Great internal infrastructure. I think the best I have seen. 4) All internal infrastructures are open, you can always read internal code and learn, you don't feel moderated.

Cons

The company feels great - until they kick you off. On my specific occasion, I was expected to fill in for a specific rule/person, and the expectorations were just wrong. What they ended up doing is taking the previous person to re-fill my place. I was terminated with bogous reasons. Some of them "taking home lab equiement", meaning an IPhone which was given to me... and I left on my boss's desk - they could not find it when I was on vacation. Eventually it was found. I got terminated the moment I came from vacation, given 2 days to sit at home to cool off, and then got called to the manager office and had to sit down on the entry of the office, which I was an employee 2 days before. I was also escorted outside, so was not even able to say good bye to my co-workers. I later found out from other workers (yea, you can still see them on the train you know...) that sometimes people would just "disappear". So, it feels good, up until it does not. And you get kicked off in a very ugly way. And you cannot always predict it.

Pros

Ok benefits Once a month office meeting with great food Weekly breakfests

Cons

Been lied to from the 1st second. - The training course is just a "lets see if any one in management doesn't like any of the newcomers so we can get rid of them ASAP". They tell you the course doesn't filter out anymore, guess what, it very much does. No one even bothers saying hi to new comers, since they probably won't stay. And they kicked out a few of the best people. Doesnt matter how many years of experience you have, if you quit to move to the company, if they chased you through months and you passed every test with flying colors, data analyst, data scientist, core researcher, all kicked out in a second. - Very much as yes man culture. Never argue with any manager. Turnover is very high and most employees dont stay more than a year at best. Unoffical dont ask dont tell Policy. Never ever say anything that can be seen as hardship or unyielding. Once you are on someone's rader, you might as well search for a new job. - many of the perks got cancelled since the company is unprofitable. Fear mongering, which was consistent throughout my time, kept everyone in line, complacent and silent. - You are required to work nights, holidays, weekends. Yup, every analyst, every data scientist, every core researcher. They say it rarely happens, but it very much happen often. - Other lies include (but not limited to!) who quit and who got fired, sayings like "no customer ever leaves us cause we are the best", ah yes, except all of those who did and are leaving and of course they dont mention all the POCs lost. I wish I could say this was one manager, or employee, but this culture is rooted straight from top to bottom. Honestly the worst work place I've ever had, including any and all pre-uni jobs. Benefits are nice, but are not worth the stress and burnout. It is also worth to mention that this review is very much toned down. If I would see and hear even 5% of the things I experienced in my time at the company, I would not even consider applying.

Thank you for the review. Your experience isn't consistent with the high standards we hold ourselves to and we will use this feedback. For employees past, present and future, it's important we address factual inaccuracies in the review. We're proud to say our employee attrition is well below industry benchmarks as is our customer churn rate; we continue to offer new and expanded benefits such as extended parental leave, Employee Assistance Programs and more; and Employee Appreciation Days, in which Israel-based employees have every second Sunday off, and all other employees are off on Friday afternoons, have been a mainstay at Forter since 2020. We're deeply committed to employee experience across all levels of the company and we encourage candidates to ask us about life at Forter.
