Terrible leadership

Pros

- Solid pay in particular for Sr Director and up due to the LTIP - WFH - good benefits such as DIRECTV service free

Cons

- terrible leadership and no idea how they got there. C-suite and SVP levels in particular - terrible favoritism leads to unqualified individuals moving up with ease while skilled talent other firms would actually want are unable to move upwards. Yep the guy with a PhD 3 levels below a college drop out is a hit on credibility. - nonstop reorganizing, shifting business model and of course layoffs - a lot of people in “extended leadership” roles have no experience, skill or knowledge in areas they oversee. Imagine a sales rep leading data analytics, former chiefs of staff overseeing product strategy and project managers everywhere - The ATT model was to find people you like and have them hire a vendor to do the work while they manage (aka push). A lot of the longer tenured employees are accustomed to getting away with not knowing anything and being rewarded for it

Pros

Great lay and PTO. Remote work with no pressure on RTO.

Cons

Where do I start? Leadership cares more about protecting shareholders than they do employees. Constantly changing objectives and no real direction from leaders. DTV loves layoffs and they are purposely targeting employees who were hired in 2021/2022 during the great resignation. Those employees came in at a higher pay and now they are being shedded. No room for advancement. I made DTV a ton of money and I was tossed aside like yesterday’s garbage. It’s funny, with all the layoffs yet the C-suite stays the same. Data systems suck and employee burnout is high. No one is happy at DIRECTV. HR managers are useless as well.

Pros

Good benefits and perks , work life balance

Cons

Often layoffs and budget cuts, too many hierarchies and doesn’t value employees’ performance, effectiveness and dedication. Many middle managers. So basically those middle managers with 0 to too little contributions will likely be safe and hardworking employees will be cut off. Too much favoritism and bias by managers but upper management and HR will ignore when employees reported

Pros

Directv had a pretty good team environment and work culture...You didn't feel like you were working against each other...it was a team effort amd they did train you well. I gained alot of skill from this position. So I do see alot of value from working with them.

Cons

Didn't like the att point system as far as missed time..worked there 3 and 1/2 years and was never able to secure dayshift due to a weird situation with the grayson call center.. Never had an opportunity to advance either....I know this was not a typical situation...you basically had to put up with angry people and swayed them not to leave...and 80% of what you do is fixing billing and account issues and resolving customer complaints..which is typical bit can be emotionally draining...some of the managers get a big head about them which can be annoying at times. I also won't forget the time a tech supervisor was literally yelling at me because I worked remote and he was frustrated in helping me...honestly that was the straw that broke the camels back..I wish I would have reported that..
