Pros

Flexible PTO, great medical benefits, very low stakes stress-wise

Cons

SLT moving company in a bad direction - what was once genuine community focused customer service is now a soulless predatory call center that micromanages you, tells you they want your feedback and opinions but don't care to listen unless you're affirming them, and gaslights you every step of the way. If you miss high school politics and want mean girls in mid-level management, this is the place for you.

Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective. We recognize that ongoing change and uncertainty can be frustrating and feel discouraging, particularly when it affects how leadership decisions are experienced day to day. We also hear the broader feedback around leadership approach, compensation, and the impact of repeated organizational changes. Healthcare benefits are an area we’ve consistently invested in, and it’s helpful to see them reflected in feedback, even alongside more critical perspectives. We wish you well in what comes next and appreciate you taking the time to provide this input.

Pros

Good benefits and diversity initiative at the time.

Cons

The company lied about what the job was. A "community building local representative" for their brick and mortar stores ended up just being a cold calling job and taking incoming calls for other stores. No room to move up. The management was the worst I ever worked for. Weird rules where they signed the lease, including someone having to stay in the store in inclement dangerous weather. Most of the "old school" employees I came into contact with drank the Kool Aid in a weird way that left no room for criticism. I left in 2022 and have been watching the rating here fall for all the years since. Could have been a great company but I wouldn't ever give them my energy now, as an employee or customer.

Thank you for reflecting on your time with us and sharing your honest feedback. We are pleased to know that our benefits and commitment to diversity initiatives were positive elements of your experience. We are truly sorry to hear about your frustration regarding the daily responsibilities of your role, our historical store safety guidelines, and the management culture you experienced. Providing transparent expectations and ensuring a safe, respectful environment for our team members are core priorities, and we regret that your experience did not reflect this. Although you transitioned away from the company in 2022, your insights are valuable as we look back at our operational history and work to strengthen our organization moving forward. Thank you for your past contributions to the team, and we wish you continued success in your professional journey.

Pros

Work-life balance (prior to layoffs)

Cons

Leadership executed a deeply misleading and poorly managed “restructure.” A new 6–9 step sales methodology was rolled out in phases, yet reps were graded on all steps in live calls before being trained on them. Managers were still learning how to score the rubric, resulting in failing evaluations for criteria employees had not been taught. After rolling out raises, increased incentives, expanded benefits, and a highly publicized sales contest, the company abruptly issued a layoff warning and canceled the required training and role-play session the same day. Severance had already been significantly reduced beforehand. The company is backed by large institutional/private equity ownership, and decisions appeared driven by cost-cutting and optics rather than employee development or ethical change management. The process lacked transparency, fairness, and basic operational integrity. Employees were asked to commit to new standards without being given the tools to meet them, then were treated as disposable. Proceed with extreme caution.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed reflection on your experience. We are glad that you enjoyed a positive work-life balance for much of your tenure, and we sincerely appreciate the five-plus years you spent as an Inker. Regarding the sales methodology rollout, our intent was to introduce a consistent framework and use call reviews as a baseline coaching tool. The scoring was designed to help both Account Executives and their leaders identify development areas and strengths. We recognize, however, that the feeling evaluated while everyone was still learning the new methodology may not have felt as supportive as intended. While organizational decisions are often made to ensure long-term sustainability, we recognize that the way these changes are managed has a profound impact on our people. Your feedback regarding communication, fairness, and the need for better tools is invaluable as we reflect on how to best support our teams. We’re grateful for the time you spent here and genuinely wish you the best moving forward.
