      Some great people but poor management

      - Good benefits - Smart, driven colleagues - Flexibility to work from home - Nice office space

      Cons

      - Toxic culture that stems from the top down. Leadership and management at Button has a habit of playing "favorites" and if you're not one of these lucky few, you're forgotten about or treated really poorly. - There's no real path towards promotions or raises. Due to these factors, the turnover at the company keeps getting worse and its surprising to see anyone last at Button for more than a year. - No transparency with how the company is actually performing. Everyone was reassured things were great until they had to lay off 40+ employees

      Disappointing experience

      Pros

      Button is a company that spent a lot of time working on its culture and recruiting. The mission and vision were also very strong, which made it an exciting company to work for.

      Cons

      While change is a constant in startups, at Button, change felt more like whiplash. Strategy changed seemingly every month. Products were build before being validated, and eng was often too much at the mercy of our largest partners. The product always seemed to be in flux. Constant strategy and product changes made it impossible to easily explain what Button is and what Button does.

      Toxic environment, incompetent leadership

      - Some amazing people at the IC level - Decent pay and benefits

      Cons

      - Unclear if there’s any chance of getting promoted if you don’t get “in” with upper management - Lack accountability for leadership - Negative atmosphere where successes are ignored and failure results in public denigration - Micromanagement is rampant
