      User Operations Agent Interview

      4 Mar 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox (Austin, TX) in Oct 2013

      Interview

I applied through their website, which was pretty much just a resume submission. About a week later, I received an email asking me to fill out an online questionnaire. The first three questions were sample customer service emails that I needed to answer as a member of the Dropbox Support team. The other questions asked me to explain how Dropbox changed the way I use computers, explain the most interesting thing I've learned recently, and a wildcard question asking me to explain a world where "Dropbox is pre-installed on your toaster." A week later, I was asked to do a phone interview. I spoke to a member of the User Ops team, and the next day I received an email saying they wanted to schedule a phone interview with an additional member of the User Ops team. I don't quite remember all of the questions from both interviews, but the first one mostly contained questions similar to the questionnaire about certain hypothetical troubleshooting situations and how I should respond. The second interview focused more on what type of information Dropbox could learn about a user based on their activity.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox (Austin, TX) in Jan 2014

      Interview

I submitted my resume and cover letter through their careers web page. I was contacted about a week or two later asking to fill out an online questionnaire. There were very abstract questions presented......googlesk. I made it pass that round and had a phone interview with one of the leads. They told me that they would get in touch with me a few days later with a decision. I received my rejection email from the recruiting coordinator who was very nice, but had a couple spelling errors in her message. Yikes!

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Dropbox (Austin, TX)

      Interview

I submitted an application and received an immediate response the day after. I was then asked to fill out a questionnaire that gave various scenarios for customer service responses. In addition, I answered some questions about how I utilize Dropbox, what is the most interesting technical thing I've learned recently, and another asking if Dropbox was preloaded onto devices, how would it be? After I completed this questionnaire, I was scheduled for a phone interview with someone in User Ops. I did not pass the phone interview, but overall it was a very fast and efficient process and everything happened in less than a week.

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox in Oct 2013

      Interview

I applied through the website after they gave out their information in my college career site. They emailed me with an online questionnaire to fill out. The online questionnaire had questions such as "How would Dropbox be used with Toasters?" After that, they asked for a phone interview, which asked the typical behavioral questions. The interview lasted for 30 minutes.
