Pros

The people that work there are friendly.

Cons

The company tends to pander towards the executives. While everyone else is stuck with no room for growth.

Pros

- Great discounts and opt-in programs. Was paying $50/month for top phone plan and extras at one point. And a lot of phone manufacturers have programs for RSRs. Sign up for Samsung Elite, Motorola Insiders, and ESPECIALLY Otter University. I got so many free phone cases.

Cons

- Heavily dependent on management. The first location I worked at was in Michigan, and I loved it. Best manager I've ever had. He hired me on when I had little experience, and to this day is the only manager I know of whose employees would speak highly of him even when he wasn't around. But the second location I worked at, I resigned because my manager was threatening retaliation for an HR report. Truly a toss up. - High turnover rate. People would be in and out, and then you would be expected to work overtime. - Some customers are infuriating. The level of entitlement is truly baffling sometimes.

Pros

Chance for good commission money if sales are good. Hourly pay in addition to the commission. Helps you learn and develop people skills.

Cons

You are basically a punching bag for upset customers. Constant billing complaints and when you say to call customer care they get more mad. You are expected to push so many products on customers who don't need it because of goals set by higher-ups. Customers hate being pitched a new tablet when they are only getting a new phone in a pinch because they broke theirs and already complained about the price of the new one. Then we are expected to pitch headphones, they say no. Now pitch a smartwatch, they say no. And if you don't pitch every type of item then you get "coached" on it.

Pros

Very well paid Benefits medical dental 401k

Cons

They closed the entire Chicago market without notice they made a schedule until Saturday and fired everyone on a Thursday gave employees a 5 minute group call on the final day of employment saying thank you for the last six months of your hard work. We have sold the company today is your last day please finish the day with integrity. Upper management is a joke. They are more interested in writing people up, then helping people grow in their positions. They claim to be all about employees, honesty, and culture, but it’s the complete opposite. It’s a company ran by T-Mobile employees that look down on Metro employees. One of the upper management leaders said and I quote “we are not ordering water bottles for Metro stores. It’s just Metro, They have running water in the bathroom if they are thirsty.” Extremely hard for sick hours to be paid or to take PTO almost impossible. All employees and store managers are not treated fairly. There is a lot of favoritism in the company. They also change commission structure very often Almost every 60 to 90 days claiming that there is more money, but the goals are always extremely high and continue to go on a monthly basis.

Pros

You can make extra money through your sales, you can be on your phone when no one's in the store, normally the coworkers are chill, opportunities to really help people and get to know them and those were the most rewarding parts of the job

Cons

The sales goals they have you jump through to get more percentages of you overall sales is stupid they priorities businesses and bts over anything else and those are the hardest things to sell, I had a manager who tried to get me to take advantage of a old man with early dementia and refused and he threaten to fire me but another coworker was more than happy to screw over this poor old guy; also had that same manager try to get me to work without pay and tried to bully me out of my requested Sundays off when I interviewed with a coworker there also complaining about me getting Sundays off, I told them ahead of time and they agreed for religious reasons, then they do hold monthly meetings early on Sunday
