Pros

I rated this company 1 star because zero stars wasn't an option. Nice neighborhood? Large windows?

Cons

Wow, where to begin. You're going to get run down and emotionally abused with very little money to show for it. The two CEOs are like a pair of fighting, divorcing parents-- they leave a trail of discomfort and a disquieting queasiness in their wake. They make the office feel like a dysfunctional family home that you need to run away from. This feeling trickles down the ladder such that passive aggressiveness and misplaced anger from your coworkers will become the norm. If you are a lower-level employee, prepare to have the fact that you don't matter shoved in your face every day by being spoken down to, disrespected, asked to do the most degrading of tasks, it really runs the gamut. The whole company runs like a 30-person retirement fund for the irrelevant CEOs, who will sit next to you and breathe down your neck while you work, spend hours of a meeting not paying attention and playing on their computers, who will only come up to breathe to tell you all how your work isn't good enough. My only advice to you is run, run, run, run, run.

Pros

- great projects to build up portfolio of wayfinding / environmental graphic design work - cool and talented coworkers

Cons

- irrelevant, checked out owners who treat the place as a cash cow - young designers are hired with inadequate experience and are thrown into the deep end with little to no help/mentorship which leads to very high turnover - no one is interested in new ideas, just doing the same old same old - creative directors basically run the operation and are more like glorified project managers - you will be expected to work lots of overtime and not get compensated for it - no one here seems to be able to manage client expectations and you the designer will pay the price with long hours - proposals are written with unrealistic timelines and budgets. Again you the designer will pay the price with unpaid overtime - no one here cares if you stay or go - there are a lot of great design firms in NYC where you won’t get taken advantage of - do yourself a favor, before taking a job there, reach out to former employees on Linkedin.
