Shell of its former self

Pros

Not much. The team has been decimated.

Cons

The new CEO is in over his head and brought with him people who are ‘yes men’. Leadership lacks transparency. Their only interest is overworking the current team and bringing in lower cost less skilled resources putting more pressure on the experienced resources without acknowledging that. The CEO has made commitments to the team and consistently does not follow through or provide any updates. It has been the saddest thing to watch. The benefits are not market competitive in the United States. When hired you get two weeks of PTO and there is no mechanism to earn more, ever. There is no 401k match offered. They do not offer salary increases on any regular or defined basis. The HR team is a shell that provides no support and does not understand US standards or law. The toxic work environment grinds down the employees. The level of micro management at EVERY level is stunning. Don’t expect to be treated like a professional or be provided the tools required to do your job.

Pros

Ethical company with the best people as employees. Silverline is one of the few companies that gives people with no Salesforce experience a chance to get on board and get trained up really properly. I was a part of the Silverline Academy and found it to be a well run and well-paced training program. The client services team is efficiency-minded and the project work is collaborative. You have a chance to learn a variety of skills that are universally valuable. Pay is fair and I find the incentive plan to be clear. I feel limited only by myself and how fast I can learn. The amount of support I got from all teams after joining the company was amazing. I would recommend to anyone who can get passionate about the work. The perks and events are awesome, and the CEO and leadership cares deeply about us.

Cons

You have to be willing to work hard. Perks for NY office better than for remote workers.

We haven’t had someone in a formal BDR role at Silverline since 2019. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review but in the past 3 years we have grown and changed a lot! We really strive to live our values and think if you were working with our solutions experts who are here now you would feel differently as we all really do believe we are all better together!

Incredibly frustrating place to work

Pros

Really awesome people who are so committed to their clients. Lots of opportunity.

Cons

Really frustrating place to work. The majority of the team is remote and with C-19 there has been no adjustment to ensure that the team stay connected.. There was an initial reach out from leadership to the team members, but 5+ months into this and it’s like crickets, leaving a team that does not feel supported. The communication from the top is very poor. Although there are bi-weekly meetings with the CEO the whole thing is repetitive and canned.

We are very sorry to hear of your frustrations. We have been continually adjusting to ensure that we can connect as a team during COVID-19. We've added new slack channels, provided weekly executive communications, added team-based roundtables, and created a virtual all company meeting in Q2. We have heard from many employees that they appreciate the regular meetings which include openly answering questions, providing updates, and celebrating team wins. We want to hear additional suggestions from our team about how we can continue to do more. If you have feedback for how we could change them, please submit via the WaterCooler, reach out to your manager or our CEO directly. We’re always open to hear how we can improve.

Pros

Truly the best people to work with. The amazing colleagues are the reason many people stay, despite a LOT of pains within the company.

Cons

Silverline used to be the best place to work, but it's fallen so far from what it used to be, that it barely resembles the company that won so many awards. Company values are just words now. They used to mean something, but now they are just a weapon for management (and yes, management is the correct term, leadership would be too generous) to use to say they're listening and focused on employees, when all but very recent actions have proven that isn't really happening. The People team should officially change it's name to HR, as they really aren't people focused at all, but rather on policy and rote-HR activities. Certain members of the team are a huge hindrance to cultural growth or regeneration - the opposite of what people on such a team should be. Management sits behind a closed door now. Yes, we have weekly office hours with the CEO, which is great, but many things feel like propaganda these days. There's definitely a lot more going on behind the scenes and yet they tout trust and transparency all the time. I'd call it a joke, but it's just too sad to be called one. The biggest issue is that people no longer feel like they can be honest or speak up when things aren't going well, for fear of retribution. That means a lot of issues sit and fester and management can have their heads in the sand thinking things are fine, since no one is saying anything.

Thank you for letting us know how you feel about your experience at Silverline. We hope you will come speak with any of our leaders, as the door is open and we are listening. We truly would like to understand why it doesn't feel this way for you. We have made changes over the last 18 months to support the next chapter of our growth as a company, and are already seeing the outcomes we had hoped for in creating more opportunities for our employees and their personal growth. Just this week we introduced another opportunity for our employees to provide direct feedback: a small round-table discussion with our CEO and President, the founders of our organization. We want to ensure that we hear from employees however they are comfortable providing feedback. Our CPO will also hold the same types of forums with team leaders to understand where and how to support them, especially given the challenges of the last few months. The more we engage and provide opportunities for direct discussion, the better we will understand what is going well and where we need to continue to improve.

Pros

(Genuinely) unlimited PTO is great, ability to work from home is key to productivity and comfort, HQ-based activities and food perks are awesome… but really, it always comes down to the people. Silverline has the scrappiest, most wonderful people I’ve worked with in years. The technical talent and the collaborative nature of all our different teams are what sets Silverline apart for me as someone who’s worked at other Salesforce consultancies. Feeling like you have real friends at work — let alone people you can trust to do meaningful, good work with and for you — is a powerful thing. That, and the client work itself is interesting, always evolving, and never gets dull. The outcomes are incredibly cool to see. I’ve had a good working relationship with other CEOs in the past, but Gireesh is perhaps the most human, most approachable leader I’ve worked with. When I first started, I thought regular company-wide office hours led by the CEO was a wild practice; I still do. But wild meaning… radically real and honest.

Cons

All the above said, we've had a year of challenges and change — some of which were really difficult for junior employees, as well as more seasoned Salesforce pros and Silverline veterans. That’s the truth. Our leadership team isn’t as diverse as it could be; there aren’t as many women and people of color at the highest level represented as wholly as they should be. As a team, we have hard work to do to get where we need to in order to become as employee-centric as we’d all like to be.

Thank you for giving us feedback on our people, processes, and areas for improvement. We are glad you enjoy our bi-weekly CEO office hours - our leaders really are listening and prioritize open communication with our employees and teams. It’s also nice to hear you enjoy the flexibility of our PTO and immense talent at Silverline. We’re happy you are part of that team and thank you again for providing your insight!

I appreciate the feedback! Great to hear about all the high points, and we certainly understand your concern around the healthcare plan. We'll take a closer look at next opportunity and will keep this feedback in mind. And current Silverliners are some of the best folks that we have when it comes to interviewing candidates - thanks for your help in keeping to make Silverline great!
