Pros

very talented colleagues, yet it depends on what department you're on. I was lucky.

Cons

let's start with the end - they refused to pay my last salary. and I've heard I'm not the only one - so think twice before you do this to yourself. few other cons: very aggressive mentality. management doesn't talk with anyone. wrong decisions are being taken consistently and without talking with any of the employees. no transparency whatsoever in company progress. most people I know either left already or are eager to find somewhere else. no work/life balance - people are pushed to work till they break and than simply being replaced. maybe 10% of employees go beyond the provision.

Pros

- there are good people at your peer-level who are amazing to work with everyday (emphasis on the peer-level, see below cons for management) - happy hour on Friday with free food and free beer - very good home office policy

Cons

- high turnover in the company especially in product and tech departments, turnover is 50%, maybe more now - there have been a lot of departures in the CXO level in the last 6 months and the priorities keep changing every other month. It's very hard to understand the leadership direction and overall product vision when there are no real leaders at this company - no internal promotions structure or internal definitions of how to get promoted, it's all based on favouritism with the CTO or CPO (they would rather hire someone externally to fill a senior role rather than invest and promote their internal employees to grow with the company) - CTO and CPO couldn't communicate if their lives depended on it, they are known to be very sneaky when they communicate top-down to their people, basically they withhold information on purpose and use their people as pawns to be messengers in political games - very toxic politics at the upper management level that trickle down to teams in a bad way such as making decisions without considering others - You should read the reviews on TrustPilot about Quandoo because all the negative ones are very on point. The B2C and B2B platform are jokes, nobody cares about the users and when the users have bad experiences, it falls on deaf ears. - Quandoo only cares about a select few high-profile restaurant clients and the platform ends up being a very sales-driven product. The sales team has free rein to give promises of building product features to acquire or retain restaurant clients. Then the sales and product teams never communicate these contractual obligations to anyone in tech before they sign the contract. Deadlines have continuously been delayed due to the lack of communication from these teams - if anyone is an undesirable employee for upper management and this employee has passed their probation so it's hard to fire them, it is a known tactic from upper management to push these people out of their teams/projects and bore them to the point that they resign eventually - There are some managers who belittle you in front of others and you are expected to just take it. HR will do nothing to help you if you report it. Bullying and harassment have only been defined as offences because only recently has the company created a Code of Conduct - People are afraid to speak out because of the bad culture at the company where people are favoured over others, so the repercussions are demoralising

Pros

The C-team (CXO) works well together, although individually they are not high on business and commercial knowledge and their EQ - Emotional Quotient is quite low

Cons

The top team has managed to create an environment of 'if I like you you'll work for me, else I'll fire you', hence there is a strong culture of favoratism. The targets are unachievable - I haven't seen even once when we have met the team targets and hence getting the monthly bonus is uncertain. I have been in sales teams before, however the environment here is that of a constant fear of losing your job. In terms of corporate ethics, I would rate them quite low. I have seen a few people being asked to leave the company even when they had high performance. Also, the HR is non - existent, there is only a recruitment team however no HR. There is a unidirectional flow of information from Germany to the rest of the country offices. and questions rarely get asked and are rather frowned upon by management - they like people who'll always say 'yes boss' to their thinking without questioning, and simply execute without inputting local information back to the mothership. it doesn't feel like a startup culture rather feels like a bad corporate environment. I wouldn't recommend anyone to join this company.
