Pros

Most employees are decent people doing their job

Cons

1. The executive team lacks diversity as well as basic leadership skills. Instead of recognizing workers who have worked hard for 2+ years, they choose to deny raises and let go of employees who discuss salaries. 2. No consistency in leadership across entire company, example: Team A had flex hours within reason due to remote working, Team B employees would be discouraged from observing company wide summer hours and micromanaged for not being online by 9am, Team C employees bragging about how little work they did, Team D employees scrambling to get projects done because they rely on Team C and no one on Team C is held accountable for their tasks 3. When multiple employees file complaints and report that an employee is sexist, racist, who makes offensive remarks and jokes - the employees who filed complaints are asked if they are 'over-reacting' and not taken seriously. 4. The DEI committee was founded in January 2021... 5. Projects and tasks would be given last minute with a tight turnaround. It is unreasonable to expect 7 client calls a week with a book of 100+ clients and then assign a project on Tuesday that needs to be completed Friday and then be surprised that client call goals are not met. 6. The bonus KPI structure has been changed multiple times and even once with just one month remaining in the quarter. All KPIs met with previous structure are not honored and only 4 weeks to meet new KPIs is ridiculous. Additionally, when NO ONE on the team meets a KPI the team is penalized instead of leadership recognizing that the KPI was unattainable. 7. Absolutely no honesty or transparency in anything. Example: when people were fired or left the company, sometimes an announcement was made however more often than not - nothing was said. Therefore, people would learn that someone left a month+ ago but was never told so a project was left hanging.

We're very sorry to hear that your experience with PerkSpot was so negative. We are absolutely committed to creating a great employee experience for every member of our team. We are constantly improving and employee feedback has been essential to how we learn and evolve as a company. We'd like to address a few points from this review very directly: 1) We provide exceptional flexibility for our teams. There are some roles, particularly facing clients or users, where sometimes being available for our partners at specific times is critically important. We strive for consistency across teams and we've made big improvements over the last year. 2) We take ALL complaints of discrimination, harassment or bullying very seriously. Our HR team investigates all formal complaints, and we have taken action up to, and including, termination for violations of our Code of Conduct. The safety and trust of our employees is essential to our ability to live our mission. 3) Yes, the DEI committee was started in 2021. We are SO proud of the work they are doing, raising visibility of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) across the company. In 2022, we partnered with an external diversity consulting firm that has conducted focus groups and surveys with our employees, in addition to assessing our policies and practices. We will continue to invest in DEI and ensuring that inclusion is a central part of who we are as a company. Based on what we are hearing and learning from our employees about their experience this year, we believe we are on the right track. We offer a wonderful employee experience, where you can be challenged professionally as part of a culture that values fun, learning, teamwork, and delivering value for our 20 million members.

Pros

Flexible- depending on your department, pretty understanding of needing time off The people- I can't stress this enough, the people I work with are A+. Helpful, resourceful, smart, motivated.

Cons

The pay is under market. It will be incredibly hard to get a raise while you work here. The CEO- not qualified for a growth phase company. Has been incredibly resistant to any change whether it be updating the product, increasing pay to market, to allowing new leadership to have input on how to improve PerkSpot. PerkSpot is incredibly slow on making any necessary changes, the CEO likes to drag his feet, all the while stating its best to take time when making a decision, and the people that suffer are the employees, waiting for better direction, a better product, and increase in pay for hard work and more livable wages.

Thanks for your feedback, even though it hits close to home, personally! PerkSpot has a good track record of business growth -- seven consecutive years, including last year -- but I agree there are things I can and should do better to keep us moving in the right direction. I’d welcome the opportunity to talk directly about what you’ve noticed and have chance to improve for you and others. Jace (CEO)

This is tough feedback for us to read, but we are grateful you took the time to submit it. This year, we've gotten much more intentional about gathering employee feedback, conducting employee surveys every quarter to help understand how we're doing and where we can improve. We are proud that our Employee Net Promoter score has improved from +5 earlier this year to +27 as of this message (Oct 2022). Of course, there's more that we can do. But, we are confident in our growth ambitions and proud of the process improvements we are making across the business, including on internal communications, compensation and learning, this year. We've also invested significantly in benefits and quality of life improvements that make a positive difference for everyone on our team. We do not shy away from tough feedback, and we are committed to listening to our team and making improvements where we can.
