Stay for more than 2 years

Pros

Once you've reached a certain experience level, you can structure your day without being micro-managed. Upper Management wil trust you to go about your day as you choose as long as you produce revenue. Get past the first 2 years, and you will have opportunity for increased pay and remote work. Work/life balance is fantastic.

Cons

First 1-2 years will be stressful and very difficult to break into the industry. This job drastically improves with experience and tenure. You may have to work "after hours," but it can be done from home. You need to be available 12 hours a day to be a great effective Account Executive.

Pros

Good people Ok salary Nothing else

Cons

Hours are terrible Play favorites Leads are terrible spend half your time calling closed businesses and not in service numbers No work life balance All you do is cold call the entire shift Only one week of training Saturday shifts with no incentive and they are a complete waste of time Leads that do work have been called 1000 times and hate the company Whenever you finally book a load chances are the carrier will finally be delayed Misleading about commission you make like none Turnover rate is like 90% or higher bring in new classes of AETs to replace senior reps being fired to cut costs no loyalty at all Take advantage of recent college graduates to feed their system Under like 5% of employees last more than six months You can find a better job don’t fall for their trap

DO NOT WORK HERE

Pros

The only pro I can think of is that the base salary is decent. Other than that, there are seriously none.

Cons

I find myself to be extremely reasonable and tend to give things the benefit of the doubt but this is the worst job I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve had plenty. Extremely unrealistic phone dial goals and if you don’t hit 250 dials per day, the manager will embarrass you in front of everyone. At the end of the day, the manager says a speech that lasts 20 minutes long ridiculing anyone who he wants to. Lots of yelling and belittling his inferiors. He also talks behind peoples back. There’s a reason why they have a new class of 10 employees every two months - they all either quit or get fired. Even if the manager wasn’t a total immature loser who shouldn’t be in that position, this job is still extremely exhausting with absolutely no growth. I know guys who have been there for a couple years and have the same title, pay, etc. as a new employee. The work/life balance is atrocious. Show up at 7am and don’t leave until 4:30-45pm and you have to work weekends. If you’re one minute late the total duts of a manager will embarrass you. Looking back at it this job taught me nothing and was a waste of my time. Please listen to my advice when I say DO NOT THINK ABOUT WORKING HERE. Please do yourself a favor and find something else.

Pros

Absolutely no pros to list.

Cons

-They will sell you on the idea of making 300k/year and unlimited PTO, all completely not true or reasonable -Crazy working hours with high stress and unreasonable quotas -200 cold calls a day quota while managing current clients (if they havent fired you already) -Even if you meet benchmarks they will fire you out of no where because their MO is to milk people dry and then take all the customers you got on your own and give them to the top 1% AEs of the company -Super low salary, awful management, high stress -Lots of outside factors that kill sales -Zero ethics -Just dont do it, literally better off flipping burgers. Basically same pay, longer term stability, and at least you'd have actual work life balance

Pros

Beer on fridays Good music All dudes

Cons

Bad boss, you’ll have to endure a 15-20 minute speech at the end of every workday. He’ll look directly at you and talk about how bad you are, but never actually mention you by name. Awful leads, you are basically forced to prospect on your own but are NOT allowed to do it on company time. They act like you’ll have good work life balance but you’ll find yourself working for hours to generate enough leads to call since all they give you for leads is basically a random selection of every business listed on Google 200 true cold calls a day.

Pros

A lot of people who work there are nice Bosses were as supportive as they could be Happy hours for the team Hour lunches that you can take any time Relaxing work environment Unlimited PTO You do get some experience/skills from the job

Cons

The turnover rate. It's 90% at the least. Most people get fired after 2-6 months. Not a good company to start with if you're straight out of college and want a lasting position. 200 cold calls a day (25/hour) You get recycled leads that were contacted within the same month, that have already said no multiple times to multiple different AETs. Sometimes leads are people's personal cell phones and home phones. Management even encourages you to try personal numbers. You only get one week of training. You learn basic terminology and go over a script. No work/life balance. You work 7:45 AM - 5 PM (M-F, and the occasional Saturday every month), but also have to be vigilant about phone calls and emails from prospects and customers outside of working hours. You sign a non-compete in your offer letter.

Working at PLS Logistics has taught me a lot by being constant in communication with customers, maintaining those relationships, and being timely in your work. Shon and Dane are really good managers and just want to see you succeed!

Cons

Long hours, you have to work a Saturday, and sometimes the work/life balance can be overlapped but you need to set the pace.
