Pros

One Model pushes a data mesh product to companies for HR data. Trying to try to find a buyer to acquire the company. If we are acquired at a high enough price, the employees options will be above water. One Model is founder-led.

Cons

We have always been in software purgatory, where we have product and leads but customer adoption isn't at the velocity we expect. January - 2025 our Peerspot mindshare was 20% for customers looking for People Analytics. Since our new CRO has launched our new strategy, our January - 2026 Peerspot mindshare has fallen to 7%. We are freaking out. Reps say BDRs bring them garbage meetings that waste their time. Key people left the company in 2025. CRO was able to close some deals in the pipeline that were started long before his arrival, but some key deals long in the works have went dark since people left. Nobody is sure why Workday or SAP would want us unless it was just for the technology at a fire-sale price.

Pros

One Model was founded in 2014 and has been in business for over a decade. We develop people analytics software and operate in a competitive space alongside major players like Microsoft (Power BI), Salesforce (Tableau), Google (Looker), Workday (Prism), Visier, and others. We’ve remained a small company throughout the years. Many employees have stayed, hopeful that growth or an eventual acquisition will validate the time and energy they’ve invested. For some, the small-company atmosphere remains part of the appeal. Like many tech companies, we're working on AI products intended to keep us relevant in a rapidly evolving market. Last year, the company hired a CRO whose previous success came from a very different market segment. Shortly after he joined, the CMO—who had previously led meaningful growth—departed the company. The impact of this leadership change remains unclear, and it’s uncertain how it will shape the company’s direction moving forward.

Cons

As we update our technology, there is a real risk that our competitors’ AI offerings will outpace ours. They are larger, better funded, and have more resources across engineering, marketing, and sales.

Pros

One Model is the best place I have ever worked. All of the employees at One Model are a pleasure to work with. There is a lot of diversity with staff spread across the entire planet. There are also no office politics which is great. The time off policy is very generous as well, with the organization heavily supporting a work life balance. The salary is competitve. Finally the leadership at One Model is involved and engaged.

Cons

The health insurance works through reimbursement, so you have to purchase private insurance. You're then reimbursed a percentage of what the insurance cost.
