Pros

* Well-stocked kitchen with various perks. * Good office location. * Dog-friendly workplace.

Cons

* Toxic work environment that drains your energy and enthusiasm. * Broken company culture that fails to prioritize the employees career path. * Inexperienced middle management, promoted "yes men" by loyalty to the manager over professional skills, particularly in Data Infra team. * Data Infra team is poorly managed (project manager) and misaligned with industry standards. Mostly focusing on tasks unrelated to data. Be aware. * Business decisions negatively impact engineering architecture. * Antipathetic intermediate managers avoid responsibility, blaming problems on the employees and stealing credit for successes.

Pros

My colleagues were great and the only reason stayed

Cons

• QA is absolutely awful and cannot do their jobs at even a low level • senior managers are utterly incompetent and prefer to talk about their time at uber in a skip level meeting or scroll tiktok in team meetings (maybe professionalism is not a requirement of leadership) • compensation is comical as especially for cost of living these days • they promote based on likability/sucking up and not skill/product knowledge. • to say they micromanage is an understatement. If an employee is late by even a minute that one minute is used against them and at the end of the month these minutes are compiled and used against employees in the form of an attendance write up or warning. They call it a Grace period btw. • senior management micromanages middle management so bad that they cannot help or work with the employees that report to them. •no core values

Pros

The people are great. Office managers and porters are wonderful .

Cons

The benefits are trash. $80 seamless credit is taxed out of your paycheck, lame medical plans with Anthem. Announced US team layoffs in October of customer support roles due to the acquisition. Melio product alone doesn't give the company revenue, heavily reliant on their partnerships. There are no role pathways. Even though the work life balance is good, I'm bored and unmotivated most days. Most importantly this is a jewish first company. They are going to vouch, support, and promote their people first. They have been quick to sing their woes and praises on the war in Israel. But said we are political when it comes to the US. We aren't asking for sides to be picked but by staying silent they've picked one.

Pros

- Great direct colleagues and a true sense of team.

Cons

- Completely incompetent middle management that will speak to you as if you were someone they were bullying on Snapchat. Not a drop of professionalism. -Zero recognition of hard work. If goals are met or exceeded, they are set higher without your knowledge and you will be told that you never met them in the first place. -Actively avoids paying bonuses, changes the bonus structure about every 3-4 weeks if anyone comes close to meeting the requirements. -Almost the entire CX department comes from Uber, hired by a hiring manager who came from Uber, which hilariously is a company known for an absolutely terrible customer experience. - Zero upward mobility, even before the company was acquired. - Teaches CX to be better at “de-escalating” when customers are angry about shady and dishonest practices (delivering payments in a different format than was requested by the sender for profit) rather than taking feedback and avoiding escalation in the first place. - Changes QA scorecards about every 3 weeks, and will threaten your job for not keeping up with these changes.

Pros

Melio offers a rare combination of trust and guidance. From early on, I was given real ownership over projects and encouraged to take initiative. At the same time, there was always a strong support system – from managers who care, to teammates who are generous with their time and knowledge. The pace is fast, but thoughtful – it’s not just about moving quickly, but about building things that last. Communication is generally transparent, and feedback flows both ways, which creates a healthy, low-ego work culture. If you're looking for a place where you can grow professionally, make meaningful contributions, and be surrounded by smart, grounded people – Melio is a great choice.

Cons

The company is growing quickly, so priorities can shift and not everything is fully defined. This can be a bit challenging at times, especially if you prefer very structured environments.
