Pros

- Good people to work with - Fancy new office if that is something your interested in

Cons

- The company is pathetically desperate for revenue, trying to "persuade" people to send payments to their vendors via virtual cards and fast ACH deposits so they get a cut of it. If a user wants to stop sending virtual cards we're told that the vendor needs to reach out to us instead - Management is given to those with the most toxic positivity and performance is based on what your numbers look like over actual customer satisfaction. Leadership exists only to keep an eye on tymeshift and if you have an issue or problem they'll get back to you an hour after you mention it and tell you to talk to a Solution Expert since they do more work than actual managers - Risk and Compliance will just decide that a payment or company is a risk and block them from using Melio without bothering to reach out to users. So when they come to Support, justifiably upset, we have no answer to give them and tell them they have to reach out to compliance. This only upsets the user more - The CX department is overworked and understaffed. Instead of hiring more people to meet volume though they ask you to work OT for some extra cash and gift cards. Bonuses are tied to the entire team so if one person is struggling the entire team doesn't get a bonus because that's what successful companies totally do...

Pros

The $80 per week seamless credit.

Cons

It is the most cancerous company I ever worked for. If you take a job in the sales department you will be LIED to that reps are over goal all the time and we have so many leads to be worked. The truth is they disgustingly overhired and no one is anywhere near making goal not including 1 or 2 favorites per team that rotate hitting based on their loaded pipelines from being the first in. Don't worry though since after a few bloodbath months they completely changed their comp structure so a few favorites will hit and negate against the other suckers that don't stand a chance. If you like a place that lets you suffer for months and then changes the comp structure effective 1 week later this is the place for you! If you like a place where upper sales management gets to work remotely permanently but reps can't and are fired when questioning it then this is for you! If you like a place where massive amounts of reps are placed on PIPs to cover for their managers this is for you. Sales managers, directors, heads simply spit out propaganda slogans repeatedly to prove their worth without ever doing anything productive. If you like having every single movement tracked and slack messages 24/7 from your managers to check in that you're being a good boy or girl then this is for you. At least in kindergarten you're given nap time and snacks. Here you are given verbal abuse and forced into a disgusting, unsanitary, scorching hot wework. WELCOME TO HELL!

Pros

There are SO many things I want to say about the damage this company has caused me, but I will refrain as a means to not expose myself. I joined Melio when it was still a relatively small company, at a time where they still seemingly cared about their employees, when the term "FaMelio" was still being used. As the company scaled, a lot of what made Melio feel special vanished. Upper management forgot how to value their employees and the once positive work environment became unbearable. Some pro’s I took from my two years at Melio: - It's a good company to have on my resume, and has allowed me to advance in my career. - After leaving the company and moving on I learnt the true meaning of being valued by an employer. - I finally got my confidence back - I had some incredible coworkers (many of which I know are still miserable there) - Nice perks (hybrid model, dog friendly office, Cibus, stocked kitchen etc)

Cons

- Employees disappear into thin air. Multiple times I witnessed immediate team members get laid off/fired/leave without any word internally. I used to find out they were no longer employed when emails bounced and Slack’s were deactivated. - SO much politics and favoritism (I have NEVER seen anything like it) - I have never felt so under appreciated in all my work life. - Leadership are extremely disconnected and walk around thinking they are better than everyone else (this was not the case when I first joined the company) - Rather than growth, I felt I was moving backwards during my time at Melio. I continuously had people being put on top of me (due to scaling), there was no room for growth whatsoever. - More time is spent running around looking for answers than actually working. -- You begin working on one project, spending hours chasing clueless people, and after giving hours of blood, sweat, and tears, they decide to switch directions and all that work goes down the drain. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company.
