Pros

- People are friendly - Work is fun and rewarding depending on which team you are on - Nice amenities, fun events

Cons

- Management incapable of giving constructive feedback (or receiving it) until after it is too late and hard decisions need to be made. Most requests for feedback were simply met with placating statements and approvals... Basically everything is fantastic until all of a sudden the building is on fire. Smiles and backstabs. - Several former colleagues burned by management putting them in roles or responsibilities they didn't want, and then tossing them when they either couldn't perform to unrealistic standards without assistance or expressing dissent or feedback. I don't know many former colleagues with amicable feelings regarding their departures. - Team structures, goals, and responsibilities were constantly changing several times a year. Several teams are filled and led by very young and not highly experienced indivuduals, which would be fine if given the proper support and mentorship. They are not, and the company leadership has made it clear: those needing mentorship are not a good fit. Odd for a company that is majority 20s and 30s. - Culture is changing for the worse. During my time we went from having 3 person HR department led by a very involved and active HR leader to having a single recruiter. Management didn't fill these positions. - COVID19 Experience: I was one of several employees temporarily laid off due to COVID. My experience was awful compared with several colleagues in other industries/companies. I was temporily dismissed via a 5 minute zoom call, and told Mappedin would be in contact regarding my temporay layoff. I was immediately cut off and instructed to return my equipment within 24 hours. This was during a lockdown. I was contacted only a handful of times unprompted over the course of the following year, and only to communicate the changes made to the ESA, which is to say, communicate that they had no responsibiltiy to recall me or provide any sort of timeline or communication according to the changes to the ESA. During this time my severance was denied and questions regarding several job openings (including previously held positions) the company had posted were dismissed.

Pros

If more than 4 people come to the office they order lunch.

Cons

The company is run by managers with massive egos and if you step on anyones toes you'll be sacked the very next day. The company talks about how it loves to listen to everyone and values feedback but IRL they just want to pretend that they're listening to create a facade of community and inclusion. Promotions are given to the employees who are agreeable rather than employees who are talented which leads to lots of people in high positions who have no idea how to run the company. Company values make 0 sense as they a vague and might not even apply to your role. The pay and benefits package is so small that it effectively feels like you're a contractor. As a matter of fact it's better to work as a contractor rather than work at mappedin. Managers are do not provide valuable feedback as they would rather use these shortcomings to not promote you in the next increment cycle. Company does cringe activities to promote "teamwork" while being just another photo op for linkedin.

Pros

Great people. Fun team events. Good team spirit. Smart and innovative people. Ability to work from home once a week. They’re trying to make the place more fun which is nice, and we’re signing new clients on a regular basis.

Cons

No one has time for coaching / career development. It’s a sink or swim situation and you receive very little feedback along the way. They do not hesitate to demote people without giving them a chance. Not easy being a minority. If you’re a white dude in your 20s/30s with no kids this place is awesome. For the rest of us it’s a lot harder. Can’t even say what we think/feel without fear of consequences - some have been burnt in the past. Salaries are bad at all levels. Bonuses aren’t paid despite promises. Promises are never kept. Goals are never met. Objectives are rarely reported on / re-evaluated. Too many great people have left in the past few months due to poor leadership at the C-level.
