Pros

Good benefits (Standard) Remote work

Cons

This is a 25 yr old company that is still unable to make profits and is barely surviving on a few premium customers who are overpaying for this terrible outdated bot software. This will end soon because of emerging AI tech and that will be the end of it. Top/middle management is living in a bubble. Most of them quit the company and sold their stock when it was high. Mr CEO comes and gives some abstract speeches from his living room or backyard who has no clue about the ground reality. VPs/Directors are extremely incompetent and you will wonder what exactly they do all day. Some high-tech positions are held by non-technical folks. There is no new/innovative product work happening other than trying to milk on existing outdated software that won’t last long. Some history, the original software was created decades ago by some brilliant engineers (based in Isreal). They also acquired some companies with excellent engineers. But there is constant churn/restructuring/politics/layoffs. There is so much instability that the outside world has no idea. Actual product support and development are so chaotic. There is zero structure. There are always layoffs (throughout the year). Don’t trust any equity in the offer letter as it will not be honored. There is no package with the layoff. H1Bs are laid off without even blinking an eye. So, you might ask why would anyone join. I was naive and didn’t know. They showed me a rosy picture and I went without any reference check from my network.

Pros

If you are an east coast college grad looking for your first job, sure, go ahead and work here. Just put your time in, then get out and do something at someplace better. Doesn't matter if you are a BDR, or a SDE. Can't really think of any other pros. Would like to say that it is a collection of really smart people, but that just isn't true.

Cons

If you have EVER worked for a tech company, this place will disappoint you every day. There isn't really a vision (it keeps changing), the tech really isn't that good (not a good sign that the CTO is leaving), and one day you'll be told you are awesome, the next you'll be told to leave. They live and die each quarter on sales goals, and the last 30 days of a quarter are unlike anything I have seen. And btw- you will selling a product that was developed to solve a problem...that may actually not exist. This is a company that wants to emulate big tech firms, yet fails at every turn. I have never seen an org celebrate mediocrity the way this company does. And then there is the CEO. Oh...man. Here's his deal...he is a very good salesman. Could sell bottled saltwater to native Hawaiians. Except the problem is, HE would have been the one who came up with the idea to actually bottle saltwater, which is a TERRIBLE business idea! He does this all the time. And then, since he NOT someone who can actually operate a business, he'll push his bad ideas to the team, but can never get them off the ground. He wastes time, money and human capital. You'd think the Board would see this stuff and force either the CEO to get his act together, or change CEOs. But this Board is a collection of wet noodles you have never heard of and aren't really that successful either (again, mediocrity...see the recurring theme here??). I honestly would not recommend this company to anyone. The space they are in is really boring (primarily customer care...yuk). Their solutions aren't really great or innovative. And the CEO and management are unimaginative, and barely above the Mendoza line of incompetence. There are SO MANY better options there. (And if you can figure out why the CEO is wasting time worrying about crypto, you get a gold star. It has nothing to do with his business. But, it is the buzzy, shiny object that has caught his attention, so of course, it is all he talks about).

Pros

As other reviews have pointed out, there are some great people working at LivePerson. There's never a shortage of things to do, and you'll have an opportunity to work with different types of people in different departments, so opportunities to learn are everywhere. And HR is working as hard as they can to make the place somewhat acceptable but....

Cons

The emperor isn't just naked, he's been flayed. The company switches strategic visions on a whim, so it has never been able to gain a real foothold in the marketplace. The "prettier" new product is inferior and missing key features from the legacy product. They also claim very loudly that they want to be considered one of the greatest places in the world to work, but actions speak louder than words, and no amount of snacks and cereal can make up for how people are treated by upper management.
