Pros

International SOS offers a employees a global footprint with a bit of entrepreneurial flair - being a privately owned company. If you like a fast changing environment with a very diverse range of people talent, ongoing investment in technologies, combined with the opportunity to develop and advance your career offshore - then this is the perfect company to work for. I have been with the company over 6+ years now having worked in different sales capacities selling and implimenting all of International SOS's broad range of security and medical services before being promoted into my current manager role. Having previously worked for a broad range of small to large global businesses, I can say confidently that International SOS stands out as one of the best by far. The great talented people here make it I think ! So give it a go if you like to be challenged and are a high performer who is driven by outcomes rather than time at your desk!

Cons

All companies have pluses and minus, I always like to view it that there just needs to be allot more (+) and you are in the right place and the (-) are the added challenges that make things interesting. Sometimes communication in larger companies and internal processes can slow things down at times but its also what makes things interesting.

Great people, interesting and diverse markets

Cons

Speed of change, especially IT systems, though this is gaining a lot of momentum at present, which is great.

Pros

Chiswick Business Park always vibrant

Cons

From Day 1 you are entering a hostile workspace. Having worked similar roles over various sectors I must say I've never encountered such an abusive regime. Blame culture pervades the platform and employees are perpetually reprimanded for the most elementary of mistakes: This can take the form of formal disciplinary proceedings for anything from sickness to call handling to grammar. Worker's rights do not exist where HR is oppressed by Senior Management. Any suggestions are met with ignorance and staff are micro-managed to the point that you have 0% autonomy. It appears different on the Operations and Security platforms, but I can safely say that TRICARE does nothing to promote ones leadership skills; in fact quite the contrary. Working 3 back-to-back 13 hour shifts, sitting on chairs harder than tube seats, sedentary for hours on end, penalized for taking breaks, with impossible workload expectations and constant scrutiny, this job is, in a word, Unhealthy!! Advertized benefits are subsidized by either the employee or the government, meaning the company does little to encourage and promote staff retention. We are given optional medical and dental cover which are taxed benefits, meaning employees pay for them; the company uses the new auto enrolment legislation to its financial gain in offering newcomers the legal minimum pension contribution; there is no annual pay increase to offset inflation and thus the rise of living costs, which makes our already-weakened salaries less competitive year-on-year. Management are a symptom of an overall oppressive and hostile regime, which makes existing workers extremely unhappy, and deters new recruits from staying. With Britain's imminent departure from the EU we are struggling to recruit language speakers, and unless there is a genuine change of tact the workforce will continue to deplete.
