Pros

Large organisation helping people in need. You feel like you are actually helping people.

Cons

Toxic culture, people are allowed to play favourites. Tenure is more important than work ethic, ability or skill. Support from HR and from upper management is incredibly weak. The only way to survive is to play the political game or be burnt out from too much work.

Pros

Lunch breaks are nice in the gardens Free coffee Salary isn’t too bad

Cons

Too many to mention all but the management are just horrible - very cliquey, unsupportive and just look at their phones for most of the shift. The training is absolutely diabolical and doesn’t prepare you at all for the actual job on the floor. The work is unrelentless, extremely stressful and pretty soul destroying.

Pros

Opportunity to meet interesting people

Cons

Bar a couple, the majority of operations managers are disrespectful, arrogant and under the impression they’re more valuable than the are. Inappropriate jokes are a theme, they make trainees feel rubbish for asking for help, maintain a generally rude disposition and can be heard gossiping about other colleagues on the office floor. Heed warning: If you are unemployed, it may be worth holding out a little bit longer. I would not recommend this experience to my arch enemy.
