Pros

If you are an older while male, or know how to flatter these guys and ignore how they treat women, you will succeed at INTO. No talent, hard work, or other skill required.

Cons

There is an unspoken understanding at INTO. Older white men will always be in charge. Younger and/or attractive women will be sexually harassed, directly propositioned for affairs, forced to over drink, with their talents, hard work and skill dismissed, and their promotions overlooked. It's surprising that with the #Metoo movement, no former or current female employees have come out publicly about what happens at INTO. Meanwhile, older women in senior leadership positions are well-aware of this, pretend it's all in good fun and sometimes even blame the victim. It's time for the few women in senior leadership positions (literally only 5 women out of hundreds of employees) to help bring forward a change by supporting other women in the organisation and start speaking out. #TimesUp

INTO Response

We are surprised and concerned by the comments made in this post, which do not reflect the culture we recognise and foster at INTO. We have conducted three anonymous employee surveys in the past 18 months, as you suggest, but not heard feedback like this. We would welcome any other feedback or details about the matters raised or any related matters, so we could more fully evaluate the situation. We have in place a Speak Up/Whistleblowing Policy which describes the process for bringing such matters to our attention so that we can investigate accordingly. We strongly encourage you or any other employee, current or former, or any other individual who has dealings with INTO, to avail themselves of this process, which can be found on our Company intranet or corporate website here https://intoglobal.com/media/384177/speak-up-policy-january-2018-final.pdf. Current employees may use their local complaint/grievance procedure, as outlined in their employee handbook instead, if they prefer to do so. Thank you.

Pros

Good benefits Travel opportunities depending on position Innovative company in many aspects Lots of openings but there’s a reason for that I️ think

Cons

As you will read in multiple reviews, management is largely incompetent. INTO has an “Old Boy’s Club” culture stemming from its leadership that seems to prioritize personal likeability over professional competence. This trickles down and numerous people are promoted into positions for which they are unqualified and highly unprepared. This may be an exception within individual centers. INTOs strategy is contributing to a declining reputation and dissatisfaction among partners. I️ have numerous colleagues at various partners who now have a negative view and I️ learned that one of their partners terminated their whole agreement because things were poorly managed. INTO’s growth plans are out of line with reality. The company is more concerned with establishing as many new university partnerships as possible rather than improving existing ones and providing adequate service to students. Establishing multiple new partners every year is not sustainable, and it’s fairly easy to see that the focus is on growth and profit at the expense of providing a good service to current partners and students. Leadership seems convinced that a corporate model can work at a non-profit university, but doesn’t acknowledge when it doesn’t, and has no idea how to adapt. In my experience, turnover is extremely high, and for a reason.
