Pros
- Great allowance of PTO/wellness days - Management seems genuinely interested in mental health and burnout - Lots of opportunity to move horizontally across the company - Co-workers are nice and eager to help
Cons
A lot of people just coast. No real deadlines or targets on most projects. The general engineering standards are pretty low (lots of manual processes, not much testing, tons of issues in production). Xero has a culture of bureaucracy and having meetings for meeting's sake. A lot of time is wasted on attending worthless meetings, filling out documents that don't get looked at, or waiting on other teams to take days to respond to you. Lower management is pretty toxic, middle management seems incompetent or outright unconcerned with the time wasted here. The work in general is mind numbing.
