Pros
Great culture-you become branded very easily. Everyone knows and are expected to live the company values; oppose to the values being just some words on the wall somewhere. Information sharing is good. Regular emails and articles from the CEO providing insight on the company performance. Everyone knows the goals of the company...if they don't they are not reading their emails. Benefits are awesome, with very small incremental cost increases to the employees.
Cons
As you move up within the company, political savvy is a critical competency. It is truly 'who you know and how strong they are regarded'. If you associate with a leader that is not regarded well, 'birds of feather...' will attach to you.
