Pros

Everybody is incredibly bright, kind, and motivating. The office itself is a pristine oasis in the middle of Manhattan--designed by the same architect Google hired for their offices--its openness and abundant natural light fosters a sense of calm and freedom. There is a strong sense of working together towards a larger goal despite our being many and divided into several different areas of expertise. The purpose statement, revamped in the last year, drives us all in our different ways to do all we can to make GLG the best in the industry. Which it is. The onboarding process was very informative, engaging, and honest. I felt prepared to to start my new job with confidence and a stronger sense of purpose, thanks to several presentations and Q&A's by the directors of every department, the CEO, and some mid-level employees. Questions were highly encouraged and the answers were always very well-thought out and enlightening. It was clear that they've got the platform-based approach to consulting down to a science, but a science that acknowledges the importance of the people who've honed it. The CEO emphasizes the absolute necessity of keeping the culture tight-knit, free, and nurturing to the individual. I was given the opportunity to ask him questions most employees at my level would never have the chance to ask a CEO. I felt heard and valued on my very first day. Not to mention the company as a business is thriving and senior executives have committed themselves to investing more in its teams. It's an exciting time to be at GLG. The on-site barista doesn't hurt either.

Cons

None encountered. Well, the printers are finicky, but I'm convinced that is inherent in people's experience with printing everywhere.

Pros

Amazing people - lots of reviews say that because it's true. You'll work with smart, genuine, hard working humans. Good benefits and perks. Interesting events and opportunities to learn. Overall, a good place to start your career!

Cons

Very fast-paced environment which definitely isn't for everyone. Lots of necessary change.

Pros

Not applicable at all (truly)

Cons

Genuinely I don’t know where to start. I’ve submitted and deleted two reviews in the past 3 months alone. On the surface GLG seems like the place to be to learn from members and executives, but just give it a little bit of time and you’ll quickly see how obvious the cracks are. The culture here is so toxic, managers either do not know or don’t want to delegate project work so you’ll find yourself getting whiplash just trying to get information related to your job from your OWN BOSS. At the same time everyone you interact with is the epitome of “that’s not my job”. The executive leadership team is a mean girls club made up entirely of friends of friends who have their direct reports working well into the night to pull things together so that they look good. The “motivators” the executives use is truly bullying (like constantly pulling up your job description to purposefully make you look and feel small) any other organization would identify making your employees purposely feel stupid and shut down as straight bullying. It’s truly no surprise that you will regularly see employees crying in the hallways. I have never seen a leadership team this incompetent.
