Pros
You get paid Some coworkers are great You get free tshirts sometimes
Cons
-Pushed to sell, hit metrics, but no incentive to do so other than fear -Managers pushing metrics to get a bonus, while most have never done that job -No priority to hire from within -Promotions based on creative storytelling in the interview, instead of actual work -everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is burnt out. Many are on leave; but the majority have resorted to substance abuse. But don’t worry, we have Lyra. -zero communication between management and employees -saying we are only supposed to offer “all of Apple” to the customers and give them the best product for THEM, yet getting accosted by leadership asking you why you didn’t get AppleCare, services, etc - being taught to “OVERCOME OBJECTIONS” -growth is almost entirely luck based, or dependent upon who does the interview -rules are bent for those management favors -will schedule you 39hrs as part time, and then 8 hrs the next week -they pretend to care but only care about protecting the company -veil mistreatment of employees in a good benefits package while working them to the bone hourly so they can brag about their vacations and new homes -corporate generally sees retail as less than - Apple support has no concept of what we do in store, and sends customers to us that they don’t want to deal with - understaffing and teaching us to take multiple customers at a time, even though we aren’t given the tools to do that seamlessly, because they refuse to adequately staff. -SELL SELL SELL!! Less and less staff. No change in pay. You want to end it all? We have resources in the form of telehealth visits. We are here to support you, but will find a corporate reason to fire you later on! -ALMOST ALL LEADERSHIP HIRED EXTERNALLY WITH NO KNOWLEDGE ON HOW THE STORE FUNCTIONS, OR HOW TO ACHIEVE THE GOALS THEY PUSH. -lost all soul and has become another corporate money-hungry company taking advantage of those who have no other options and are scared to lose the healthcare -Majority of my coworkers are homeless, carless, or live with their families because they cannot support themselves financially in our area, even full timers.
