Pros

Speaking strictly working in Ops Engineering; - The speed and depth of amount of things you learn is unmatched - Travel and visit dozens of different building sites / states - Work with incredibly smart & talented people - Makes for very easy "elevator pitch" conversations when asked what you do. The name sells for itself - Full autonomy for your work

Cons

- Role is extremely travel heavy, 80-90% plus. Exciting in the beginning but eventually you'll get burned out. Can be very challenging if have a family/ and or personal obligations at home - Leadership seems to change roughly every quarter. Expect to report to a different manager every ~6 months - Amazon has very deep pockets and when faced with obstacles the leaning option is throw money at it, which at times can be very frustrating given when these issues are repetitive

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
