Pros
Every day offers opportunities to learn, and with people changing teams fairly frequently, you will never run out new interesting work.
Cons
Teammate quality varies. The best engineers are the busiest/least available, so getting help when you need it is hard (specially when you're not in person). In regards to work-life balance: I used to do a 30 minute walk during lunch at my old job. Nowadays, I eat through my lunch breaks. Sometimes you might need to work late to grind out a task without any distractions. However, this is mostly voluntary, and you can take your time back easily.
