Pros
There is a good scope to learn, work can be sometimes challenging and engaging. The work can sometimes push you to get better at plenty of things related to technology, which you otherwise may not proactively work on.
Cons
Not so great work life balance. Work in the platform teams usually have a lot of scrutiny (it may be necessary as well) and not so fast moving (IMO) and sometimes you have to act/work beyond your pay grade to get things done. May not be great for the people who got used to work in a fast moving environment. But there are plenty of non platform teams as well, which may have a better work life balance and a fast moving work, need to explore it yourself.
