Pros

Learnt what a horrible employer would be like and how to remove myself from an unhealthy workplace. Great learning curve! They genuinely seemed to treat their patients pretty well and had many happy customers.

Cons

n a few words: condescending, negative/unhealthy, mismanaged and blame-shifting workplace. I left this place after applying to and joining another clinic. I would hope that this review would better inform those opting to apply or accept a job from this company. There is no practice manager or ANY management team for that matter, for a clinic that runs across several locations and takes significant amounts of money per appt ($150-300+ or 1000-2000+ instalments for surgery patients). Primary doctors (who are stressed and overworked) 'manage' the clinic alongside doing appointments during the day. So receptionists get blamed and guilted for everything as there is no one to really guide/manage them. No formal training procedures or protocols to follow either - most staff are inexperienced and casual workers so there is definitely a need for it. Experienced verbal abuse from one doctor and constant condescension from the other - few staff were in tears on multiple occasions. Almost every receptionist was scared for their life when the doctors asked them something. Primary docs used scare tactics and bullying to get things done around the place. Extremely high employee turnover - saw countless staff come and go. I have been following their hiring pages for a long time after I left - seems as though they are hiring receptionists on a monthly basis due to how quickly they go through them as 'nobody is good enough' or receptionists have had enough of the doctors. If you are a student looking for a job - this job will stress you out and impact your mental health, not manageable with your studies.

Pros

There are no pros to this workplace. My colleagues were friendly and female doctor (the surgeon's wife) was nice most of the time.

Cons

I wanted to obtain administrative experience and in the beginning, things did look promising. However as time went on, I began to see and sympathise with every single person that has written a bad review about the male surgeon (practice owner). I urge everyone who is thinking of applying, to not do so and to do your due diligence and read every single review before doing so. I constantly worked in fear and was scared of being yelled at every single day. If i would ask the surgeon to repeat something, he would raise his voice and slam the phone. I remember there was a time when a patient had overheard his loud voice and they were shocked and went back to their seat. The more I worked, the more anxious I felt and would honestly dread having to come in. You honestly need to consider if money is worth more than your mental health working at EPC Health. This workplace is also discriminatory. They ask you to provide a photo of yourself before you apply and only hire young female Asians. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. All I can say is BEWARE and do not apply. Honestly, there are so many better other opportunities out there.
