Pros

You have the option to work completely remote. There is also flexibility with work where you're trusted to get work done and it doesn't matter when you do it. For the most part, we a few exceptions, people at D+R are great.

Cons

The pay is laughable and no where near market value. With that, the company can't retain any talent. People are leaving en masse with management offering bread crumbs to try and keep people. The work isn't rewarding either. An overwhelming number projects at the company are tedious and boring. With all the departures, there's a large increase in workload. Don't expect to get compensated for taking on new responsibilities either.

D+R International values all employees and all opinions and we’re sorry your experience with our company has not been positive. Since 2017, we have gone through two comprehensive salary benchmarking processes to ensure our salaries are at market value. Our goal is for our salaries to be at least at the 50th percentile and when they aren’t, in most cases we are able to make the appropriate adjustments. We are working hard with our BD team to secure new work and new opportunities. We encourage all staff to discuss their concerns with their manager or anyone on the leadership team so we can work together to improve your time with us.

A Morally Bankrupt Company

Pros

Flexible work schedule, work your own hours. Generous PTO package

Cons

The company regularly hemorrhages money from its employees to fund its losses from poor money management and unprofitable projects. The company has not paid above cost of living for the duration of the time I've worked here. Employees are leaving on a grand scale for more interesting, better paid opportunities that pay market value. The company values include a policy of intentional dishonesty. They frequently lead their employees on with promises of better pay and treatment in the hopes that they will not leave. After hearing the same false promises 3-5 times in the past year, people have lost faith and are no longer willing to remain loyal. Do not work here if you are a living, functional, human being because the main goal of the company is to take in bodies and spit them out when they're no longer useful.

D+R International values all employees and all opinions and we’re sorry your experience with our company has not been positive. It is never our intention to be dishonest with our employees. Historically we have given all employees both a cost of living increase and merit increases every year. It was unfortunate that in 2021 merit increases were delayed several months but we’re fortunate to have been able to award them in May. It is our hope to be able to continue to maintain this pay philosophy while also working hard with our BD team to secure new work and new opportunities. We encourage all staff to discuss their concerns with their manager or anyone on the leadership team so we can work together to improve your time with us.

A Company Stuck in Stagnation

Pros

Flexible work environment, ability to choose to work from anywhere, friendly coworkers of approximately the same age, generous vacation time, a flat organizational structure makes upper management approachable. Great starting pay for new employees. Perfect opportunity for those interested in environmental work to get their foot in the door.

Cons

A lack of internal opportunities and funding for employees to grow, coupled with a few dreary legacy contracts staffed by a handful of overworked staff members doesn't make for a great company culture. Pay doesn't scale with employees skill and value-add. Difficult to stay for more than a 2-3 years. Lacks personnel with expertise to be industry leading in any areas of energy efficiency.
