Pros

The people you work with truly are extremely talented. What Crisp offers is quality.

Cons

Note that every time someone posts a negative review you see 4 after about how great the place is bc they incentivize employees to leave glassdoor reviews to try to cover up the bad reviews. The turn over at this company is extremely high because of how they use and abuse their employees. Management does its best to brainwash you into thinking that you won’t be able to find anywhere else because of what’s happening with COVID and forcefully reminds you every day that if goals are not met people will be fired. Just read the HR responses on every negative review that is left. They never accept any responsibility and love to say that “the Crisp culture isn’t for everyone”. Truly disappointed in myself for not doing my due diligence before taking their offer. Management constantly talks down to their employees and I’ve heard numerous employees get cussed out and berated in front of everyone. It’s not to try to elicit change or provide any kind of feed back either but only to embarrass and demean people. Even the recruiter reached out to me after they left the company and apologized for even getting me the job. When I was there almost the entire sales team left and every time a person would leave they would try to intimidate them to stay. They are not being safe either when it comes to COVID and will post about “immeadiately” letting employees work from home but when they brought everyone back they didn’t even have tempature guns to check temps and only one person wore a mask the whole time. they are not accommodating at all if you are high risk!!!!! Not to mention your work life balance is a joke at this company. You are expected to get paid for 40 hrs while working well over 55-60 hrs every week and if you have to leave early for something or take a day off they make it seem as though you are hurting the team. I am so glad I never recommended this place to anyone because if I could give it 0 stars I would. Can’t wait to see what kind of response I get back to my review but for those of you reading it go back and read all the negative reviews they are all similar about how toxic this place is!!! RUN FAR FAR AWAY!

Pros

Not to be dramatic, but I sat here for 10 minutes trying to come up with a single positive, as well as filled out everything else and came back to this and still can't come up with anything. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a company.

Cons

It's overstated, but the leadership is straight up toxic. Gaslighting, guilting, and manipulating employees left and right. They don't trust their own employees to work from home. They handled COVID horribly - masks were never even enforced in the office until an entire team tested positive. The CEO goes on inappropriate rampages about culture and makes you feel worthless. The COO is running the company to the ground. Unbelievably low salary with a poor incentive structure that does not make up for it, even for top performers. Little to no room for upward mobility. You will be expected to work hours beyond a 9-5 and there is zero OT pay, even though I think some roles could have a case for being misclassified as exempt from OT. The positive reviews are suspicious as every single person I have ever talked to at the company also hated it, but was not in a position they could afford to quit, but they were actively looking for a new job and applying to other companies. Take a look at the About Us page, most are under 30. This is because this job is impossible for you to have a family life/home life. This job caused tension between me and my significant other. This job pushed my mental health beyond the limits. There are so many mind games they play to get you to stay. I would have left as soon as I started but I needed the income. If there is one thing this company taught me, it's to take your time finding your new career change and be sure to do thorough research on what you're about to sign up for. Don't walk away, RUN AWAY as fast as you can.

Pros

Crisp Video Group is a complicated and difficult company to describe. At the end of the day, it is a marketing company, and it knows how to market itself well. For example, it prides itself in the following "perks" for its employees: - Unlimited PTO - 401k - Free Lunch - Casual Attire It is also a place where they give a lot of responsibility to their employees, so you can learn a lot and grow quickly. The people who work there are also a really solid group who you quickly come to see as close friends.

Cons

The head of the company, Michael, is a big visionary who likes to preach working hard and doing whatever it takes to hit goals. And the employees who work at Crisp all want to achieve this -- they are all hardworking, dedicated, and truly care about making a difference. The problem boils down to the underlying toxicity in the office. For one, compensation varies greatly between different roles and employees are dissuaded from discussing it with one another (which is illegal). The base salaries are incredibly low and because there is no overtime, you can spend 60-70 hours easily working and if you don't hit a goal, you still won't get anything. If a team isn't hitting their goal, the CEO will give an incredibly passive-aggressive speech about how people aren't trying hard enough. However, I never once saw the CEO look inward to improve his leadership skills. He would occasionally get feedback but rarely did anything about it. Instead, he would say that the employee wasn't a "cultural fit" and would leave it at that. The other issue is that Crisp targets younger employees because they don't know better. This results in the employees getting under-compensated and taken advantage of. In addition, employees are constantly told that Crisp is the best opportunity they'll ever get in an attempt to scare them off from looking for better work. When in reality, every person I know who has left Crisp has been way better off because of it. One final note on Glassdoor. Some of the positive reviews you see on Glassdoor are true. However, many of them are not genuine. This is because leadership will pick a group of 2-3 people at a time to write a review and will give them a deadline of a week. They encourage "honest feedback," however, as an employee it is not anonymous because they know exactly who is writing them. As a result, employees feel pressured to write reviews that are more positive than they might necessarily be.
