Cordis Response

As Cordis transitions as a stand-alone organization, we realize there are areas of the company where process improvements are necessary to become the leader in the industry. A huge undertaking of this magnitude takes time and does not happen overnight. We understand true change starts with our culture and part of that culture change is evaluating how competitive we are when it comes to compensation, and our overall benefits package. We are committed to attracting the TOP talent in the market and a part of that includes changing our culture, offering competitive salaries while positioning the company to being one of the most attractive places to work by remaining committed to saving millions of lives through innovation, clinical acumen, training, and service.

Pros

The Cordis name is still recognized in industry as providing quality medical devices and the remaining employees are committed to developing said quality medical devices. Many positions are remote. Good company to start your career as you will get lots of experience (at the cost of your Work/Life balance) and then move on to a better paying less toxic environment.

Cons

Cordis is in a slow but steady decline. Numerous product quality issues, multiple product recalls. New owners want to cut as many corners as possible, some that could affect product quality. Plan is to "streamline" as much as possible to make a profit and then sell the company in 5 years. What future that holds for the employees is unknown. Poor pay, poor benefits and low morale. Bonuses only for Manager level and above. Plan on doing the work of 2 or 3 people and working 50+ hours/week as teammates leave and are not replaced. Multiple hiring freezes during the year. Mass exodus of experienced quality teammates, the high turnover rate is really quite impressive ! H&F bought Cordis a year ago, came in guns blazing, promising the moon. All went well the first few months and then the significant budget cuts started. H&F touts themselves as a really experienced top of the line investment company but it took their IT & HR programs months to implement, and they are still not finished. Shouldn't an expertly managed company already have these systems fully in place so they can hit the ground running ??

As Cordis transitions as a stand-alone company, we are operating as a “flat” organization in a few areas, providing us opportunity to assess our processes to improve organizational efficiency. A huge undertaking of this magnitude takes time and does not happen overnight. We understand to become the leader in our industry, true change starts with our culture and the need to create a more cohesive organization through collaboration, empowerment, and professional development.

Pros

None that would make it worth recommending this company as a place of employment.

Cons

If you’re planning to work for Cordis, be ready to give up your work-life balance, and become a “yes man”. Constantly cutting corners and headcount to meet budget targets at the expense of employees and quality. Senior leaders treat employees poorly. Benefits are lacking and very expensive.

Pros

Good package and benefits, but that is all.

Cons

Lack of innovation on the last years. Products are currently perceived as a commodity by customers. Aggressive communication style is encouraged. Country leader believes you need to be connected 24/7, even during vacation time... and being able to get an approval of vacations is not easy. Last century management that thinks that you are kind of a "slave".

As Cordis transitions as a stand-alone organization, we realize there are areas of the company where process improvements are necessary to become the leader in the industry. A huge undertaking of this magnitude takes time and does not happen overnight. A focus of the new Cordis is product design and development and being up to date on the latest innovation and concept design within our industry. We understand true change starts with our culture and part of that culture is about positioning ourselves as the innovative leaders in our industry through more collaboration, empowerment, and the professional development of our teammates.

Pros

You will develop a thick skin and the ability to sustain bullying by upper management.

Cons

-Lower pay than the market,no benefits/bonuses (except managers or above), overtime until 6-7pm , no life after work , no employee appreciation or lunch outs even if you save over 100k in savings (pure modern-day slavery) - Plant runs 24/7 like chickens with heads cut off - Company cuts corners by not providing essential tools and software licenses to employees and except to work (never heard off in any medical industry) - Zero innovations, R&D sleeps over investors' money -Employee turnover- 20+ engineering FTE employees leave in a year and a fresh set of noobs start over again -Zero focus on employee growth/upscaling and will obstruct you from applying for any internal positions too, leaving with only option to either survive or leave - They don't pay their supplier on time and expect raw materials to be delivered on time (no wonder)
