Pros

I can’t really think of any pros that matter.

Cons

If you were just offered a job at this company and you are reading the negative reviews. Stop. Think. Don’t take the job out of desperation. You will not grow. You will be told what to do. Success plans were a waste of customer, people and executive time. Whatever you have been told about “the best is yet to come” is false. Sales is not performing, CS is losing customers, product is not delivering, and engineering never made the infrastructure changes required to scale. Competitors are eating Collibra’s lunch and will continue to. Company was built on legos that are falling apart. Surprising that the board has not taken action to stop the bleeding. When is SLT going to stop making excuses? It’s not just the economy, state of the world, interest rates blah blah blah that’s impacting Collibra’s poor results. It’s the people the product and inefficiencies. The Citrix mafia won’t be able to course correct with their piddly ideas. Whoever thought it was a good idea to bring them in was wrong. They are incompetent, clueless and controlling. Innovation at Collibra has officially been shut down. Product will not be able to deliver the many promises over the years and customers will continue to find better scalable and easy to implement technology. Let’s face it. Companies are divesting the CDO position which means Collibra becomes irrelevant. Don’t believe anything they say about AI- the infrastructure can’t support it. All fake marketing…..

Pros

I still believe in our product.

Cons

I've been with Collibra for a while, and man, have things changed. It used to be the kind of place you'd brag about working at - great vibes, great people, and the freedom to work in a way that suited you. But that's all in the rearview mirror now. First off, the whole "back to the office" thing has turned into a bit of a mess. Doesn't matter if working from home was your jam and worked out fine - if you live in certain areas, you're expected to commute back, no ifs or buts. And remember when our CEO was all "I'll never force you come back to the office if you don't want to"? Yeah, so much for that. Trying to get an exception has become a joke; it seems like management just enjoys saying "no" for the heck of it. Then there's our new SVP People, trying so hard to make a splash but honestly, just causing the ship to sink. It feels like they care more about their personal brand than, you know, actual people. The atmosphere's turned toxic - it's like we're just numbers on a spreadsheet now, not humans. Oh, and about rewards for hard work? Forget about it. No raises, bonuses are shrinking, and guess how they broke the news? The SVP People, who is so eager to go back to the office, decided to work from home to drop that bombshell. Talk about avoiding the fallout. If this doesn’t show the inexperience, I don’t know what is. Leadership roles seem to be handed out like candy at a parade, but not based on what you know or how hard you've worked. It's all about who you know now, which just isn't right. And let's talk about the layoffs. Round after round, it's been nothing short of a nightmare. The only "round" that hasn't happened but absolutely should, is at the top. Seems like those making the questionable calls are the only ones safe from the chopping block. Remember when "open, direct, and kind" or "one Collibra" were things we actually lived by? Feels like ages ago. Now, those values seem like they're just empty words, with none of the action to back them up. It's a bummer to say, but the company we loved is pretty much gone. It's turned into just another company that's lost sight of what made it special. Keeping my fingers crossed that things will get better before the last of the great team members decide to leave.

Pros

some really smart and hard working people work here They're really trying with DEI - i wouldn't say its going well, but they're trying

Cons

This place is toxic and an absolute mess. There are so many leaders here that should not be leaders - they are wildly unqualified and fail to grasp the basics of their role. These people create an endless amount of meaningless work in order to try to prove their relevancy. These leaders are causing the sparse remaining talent to leave in droves. When i spoke up to my manager about my profound unhappiness in my role due to micromanagement and being over worked - i was questioned about what was going on outside of work to cause such stress for me. It was never accepted or acknowledged that Collibra was the problem, and it was implied that it was my fault or my personal life that was prohibiting me from thriving here. I was told to feel empowered speak up about being underwater, but every time i spoke up i was told to have growth mindset. This place made me feel like a failure, but in hindsight i was set up to fail. Any ideas or thoughts I shared about changing process or questioning the status quo was met with confusion at best, or hostility & patronization at worst. I have been removed from this company for enough time to reflect upon my experience at Collibra clearly, and I can confidently say this was the worst experience of my professional life. The BOH systems are absolutely not in the place they need to be for a company of this size (far too much is still managed in excel or google sheets). Different teams are in different places with the quality of their data and systems which makes it incredibly challenging (read impossible) to work cross functionally. Over the two years I spent here - nothing changed, nothing improved. There is no clarity on the strategic plan or long term vision, it feels like everyone is constantly putting out fires and not spending any time thinking about how to prevent fires. Oh.. and stop being cheap. Pay people what they deserve and give teams the resources they need to be successful.
