Pros

There are some very helpful & supportive individuals in the organisation: special mention to Chris Mills and Claire Bullen Free fruit Good kitchen facilities Clear targets and goals set

Cons

Extremely cliquey culture - it is expected that you become part of the social circle of the “inner circle” or you are put at a disadvantage Combative & childish atmosphere among long-standing colleagues who feel they can get away with anything Unsupportive HR system that favours the above Extremely low levels of support masked under the guise that there is a “Learning & Development Team” - although some members of the team are very professional & helpful False promises of “flexibility” which are added and removed at the will of management depending on how they feel on a day-to-day basis Antiquated office with bars on the windows

Pros

Solid initial training program. Good facilities and resources.

Cons

Poor management style and culture. Micro-management and strict KPI’s which in reality shouldn’t even be monitored (I know this as I now have much fewer KPI’s, yet I have improved my billings by 1000%+). Outdated advice for business development (in my opinion/experience). Most people at CSG were trained to do this ‘old style’ of recruitment, which involves a lot of hard selling, pestering, chasing (e.g. I was once told by senior management to call up a new client at 10pm at night to try get the invoice paid before the next day, as it was end of period - embarrassing if anything). Times have changed and so has recruitment - this no longer works for the majority of people, and they can see straight through it. It’s about adding genuine value, and what you find is that when you stop pestering people, they enjoy working with you more, and are more likely to turn into long term clients. Also not the best commission structure.

Pros

They paid me market value although the commission wasn’t great

Cons

The culture was really toxic, there was always an atmosphere. You could tell there were favourites and those that were respected (or feared) by senior management and the rest of the people were disposable (or that’s the way it felt) I actually performed ok in the year that I was there but it wasn’t somewhere I would have ever stayed longer. I tried to push through but I was miserable. I note everywhere else I’ve ever worked I have loved
