Pros

- You get to move fast - very fast. The company runs on pure energy! - In-office barista - Company will encourage you to grow strongly in your use of AI

Cons

- In the efforts to move fast, a lot of horrible trade-offs get made, whether it be to architectural design or fixing tech debt and developers feel like it is an endless slog of producing code that should be better but isn't - The headoffice is in London and that means trust is very hard to build up in Cape Town (and you feel it) - The relentless drive to push hard all the time is a culture that is not suited to many in tech - General lack of empowerment at the executive level in the people below them to operate without constant checkups, progress updates and some agency/independence in making decisions that they can stand with.

Pros

Positive environment with people and management that make you feel like you're part of something big. Great benefits and good opportunities for growth and the chance to earn well.

Cons

You might start a shift a bit late in the day and end a bit late in the night but work life balance is good.

Pros

I’ve genuinely enjoyed my time at AnyVan Cape Town. What stands out the most is the clear investment in career growth and development. Hard work doesn’t go unnoticed here, it’s rewarded. I’ve personally experienced progression and opportunity as a direct result of the effort I’ve put in, which creates a motivating and performance-driven environment. One of the highlights has been Vantastics, our version of a President’s Club for top performers. It’s an incredible initiative that recognises excellence and gives people something tangible to work towards. It reinforces a culture where high performance is celebrated and appreciated. The culture is another huge positive. It truly feels like a family. There’s an open-door policy at every level, and you’re encouraged to speak up, share ideas, and ask for support. The Senior Leadership Team doesn’t feel distant, they act more like mentors. They’re approachable, invested, and genuinely want to see people succeed. There’s also strong cohesion between departments. Teams collaborate rather than compete, and there’s a shared sense of working toward the same goals. That alignment makes a big difference in day-to-day work and overall morale. Overall, it’s a rewarding place to work if you’re willing to put in the effort and want to be part of a supportive, high-performing team.

Cons

Nothing at all, happy with everything.

Pros

People are great, flat structured with no egos or hierachy. Super dynamic and it is typical scale up culture you need to get your sleeves rolled up regardless of level and you're not going to be working 9-5 every day but there's some super interesting projects to work on and the people are great. It's a good laugh, with great people and interesting work and the company is growing, which is great. Lots of opportunities if you're delivering and performing well. Also have fee breakfast, lots of socials and quarterly awards which are really nice and cash prizes are given. Also annual awards where you get to go skiing if you win.

Cons

None at all - you just need to be ready to work hard, deliver and enjoy lots of change and continually looking to make things better.

Pros

AnyVan is a truly exceptional place to grow your career. The culture is dynamic, supportive, and driven by a genuine investment in its people. In just four years, I’ve received five promotions, which speaks volumes about the company’s commitment to internal growth and recognizing hard work. The compensation is above market, and the benefits are outstanding—ranging from employee-funded education and short courses to medical aid and retirement contributions. One of the highlights of my journey was the opportunity to travel internationally with the company, which added incredible value to my professional experience.

Cons

The pace is fast and the environment is constantly evolving. While this can be intense, it also keeps things exciting and offers continuous learning opportunities.
