Pros

There is beer on tap, but the person who kept it stocked just got laid off.

Cons

Amify has created a place with no loyalty and only increasing paranoia. On my first day of work there, the owner told me he views people as investments, and if you aren’t returning on that investment, you’re out (I wasn’t even in sales). They do not value people, and during my time there I witnessed countless layoffs and firings. At least once a week there was another copy and pasted email with another person’s name inserted. There were no formal reviews processes during my time there, or any performance reviews. You worked there blindly waiting for the hammer to drop. Leadership provided misinformation at all turns. Recently, some of the most loyal employees were let go due to “relocation” aka they don’t want to pay Virginia salaries anymore. It’s unfortunate. This place had a lot of talent and heart and now it’s just a skeleton. If you’re looking for a job in the Arlington office, just don’t. Oh and they couldn’t even update my separation agreement when I was let go. It still had the last person’s information in there.

Pros

- Work/Life balance was present. People came in, worked hard and were able to leave at a decent hour to attend their families or other obligations. - At the beginning Work From Home was a flexible option but that was slowly taken away - Unlimited Vacation -

Cons

- "Leadership" (or lack there of) hires only their former colleagues who act and think exactly like them. There is 0 diversity in the workplace and they do this intentionally to create a single thought process. They don't want anyone going against the grain and just want people to smile and nod. It's a waste of time and talent. - Intentionally low effort to properly communicate and be transparent. The scary part is they think they are going a good job. This is a former employee telling you, you are absolutely not doing a good job. - Do not believe the HR self-written posts that they value employees as humans. An executive told me that we are thought of as just investments. But make it known we invest in THEM, they don't invest in US. They have a pattern of hiring, no training, setting goals (with no data or experience to back them up) and firing because it's easier. They take the easy route instead of investing and training their employees. Wasting everyones time and their own resources. This pattern is not sustainable. - No path forward or intention for promotions/growth/learning opportunities. - The CEO and President are socially inept and are not effective leaders.

RUN FAR FAR AWAY

Pros

Snacks. Unlimited PTO. There are good and talented people who work here for the most part.

Cons

Amify does not value employees. Plain and simple. Employees are not seen as people to invest in and take care of, but are disposable once there is a small bump in the road. The upper management is dishonest and cut throat when it comes to providing any sort of stability; everyone is constantly paranoid that they will be the next person to lose their job. Over my time there, I witnessed so many people get the axe or get forced out of the company. It's hard to watch and every time it happens, morale went down. Upper management cut an entire team just to hire their replacements in the Cincinnati office to pay a lower salary. I know this because an executive said this to my face. If you are considering taking a job with this company, please turn and run. The level of discomfort you feel in your gut is not because it's an exciting start-up environment, it's because this is a toxic work culture. I promise it will not get better, and if you are reading this as an employee of Amify: maybe it's time to get that resume ready.
