Ventia is on the hunt for a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our Transport Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality transport projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Working closely with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, and operational teams, you will support the successful delivery of road maintenance, renewals, capital works, and infrastructure improvement projects across the transport network.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver transport infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
Monitor project performance, costs, risks, and quality outcomes.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Prepare project documentation, reports, and client communications.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project requirements are achieved.
Support procurement activities, including quotations, tenders, and contract administration.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and operational teams.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in project engineering, ideally within transport, roading, or civil infrastructure environments.
Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and contract management.
Knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi standards and transport infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
A commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
