Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Tait Communications full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
The people you work with are great The work has depth, sometimes too much The physical work environment is mostly good
Cons
Running to stand still Taking ages to make a decent profit to secure a cost of living pay rise No cost of living pay rise in years Pathetic 1-2% pay rises last year [for some] but nothing approaching the growing deficit in the cost of living over the past 5 years

Pros
Some good people, the work is occasionally interesting
Cons
Very heavy culture, with a lot of overhead. Hypocrisy, manipulations, lie and ignorance from management became a new norm. There was 0 investment in training for years. Usual salary gap from the average market is 25k. Due to all of it people leaving as soon as they can, they haven't been replaced and more pressure comes to those who decided to stay. It is completely normal there to do three people's job without any pay rise for years or even a "thank you" from management. On top of it all, everything is very much outdated. Technologie outdated at least for 15-20 years, and no investment to the equipment and software even in plan. There are no opportunities for the employee to advance themselves, the workload is unbearable and no one cares about improving skills, because people with good skills leave even faster. The place might be suitable for close to retirement people who completely burned out in their occupation and simply don't care any more, but this attitude makes very bad influences on those who just started their career, especially if this job is the first one. This atmosphere is not suitable for young engineers, especially females. I can talk endlessly about the number of sexist's jokes and comments I have heard for the relatively short period of being working there.

Pros
Very knowledgeable and passionate people who are fun to work with and learn from
Cons
They're not good at retaining staff - salaries are not keeping up with other electronics companies, and many high-performing staffs haven't received a payrise in over 5 years. As a result good people are going elsewhere, and positions are not being backfilled at the same rate, which means the workloads have increased.

Pros
I can only speak for the engineering side. It's a good place if you are looking for a 9-5 job working on legacy problems.
Cons
The structure of the engineering organisation does not cultivate a challenging and growing environment for engineers.

Pros
As with most other reviews, it's the support and comradery of your peers that has to be the biggest pro. Tait is also supportive of flexible working.
Cons
I worked for several years, and over that period the company went from a supportive / family culture to one of expectation and little support. I experienced multiple rounds of redundancies, and in nearly each round the "workers" were targeted hard and numbers were reduced, whilst the work required from these teams remained the same, if not increased. Over the same period, the senior management time grew! As a consequence, I was not only expected to do my role, but also inherited several other people's responsibilities also. This was just expected. There is no monetary reward, and not even a word of thanks for doing a good day's work. The senior management team are invisible. They appear to not be engaged with the teams, and use excuses to not interact or engage with them. As such, there is no respect for the CEO and to most, it would seem that the CEO does not know his staff. Staff have not only had their workloads increased, but they are also told no pay-rise. In fact, there have been no annual pay review for years and many staff are now being paid below the market rate. (note, there have been a few adhoc rises, but to select staff members only). Partially due to the demands made on the staff, there is little career progression available as everyone is focused on staying afloat with the day-to-day demands. There is no time to advance yourself, and there has been no training budget for years for external training.

Pros
Good people, an opportunity to work with technologies suitable for museums.
Cons
Top management totally incompetent. Miscommunication on every level, ancient technologies, no investments. Salary is a joke, employee's efforts don't have any value for management. No career opportunities at all.
