He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We are seeking 1x Summer Ranger who will be based at Ambury Regional Park. This position is a 6-month fixed term full time role which will include working on a roster covering all weekends and public holidays over the fixed term duration.
As a Summer Ranger, you will be responsible for enabling safe and enjoyable outdoor recreation experiences in regional park settings and has a conversation focus.

Renumeration for the role is at living wage $29.90 per hour.

Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities
This role will play a key part in supporting recreation and farming activities at Ambury Regional Park during the busy spring period. You’ll also help deliver education programmes for both the general public and schools visiting the park.
You’ll spend time engaging with visitors across campgrounds and park arrival areas, helping to create a positive and welcoming experience. Alongside this, you’ll carry out general park maintenance, contribute to conservation and historic site protection programmes, and support the wider ranger team to ensure park environments are safe, clean, and well cared for.
The role also includes hands‑on support with the maintenance of recreational and farming assets, such as walking, signage, and fences.
