Babcock is looking for an Electrical Technician to join the Technical team based in Devonport, Auckland.

About the role

Join a high-performing technical team working on critical marine and industrial electrical systems. This role offers hands-on involvement across installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding for complex equipment, including power generation, propulsion, and control systems. You’ll work in a dynamic defence environment where quality, safety, and precision are paramount, contributing directly to mission-ready outcomes.

You’ll be supported with ongoing training, exposure to advanced technologies, and opportunities to develop your technical expertise— from EEHA qualifications to fibre optic certification. This is a role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a collaborative team. $51-$55 per hour (Trade Cert & EWRB registration dependent)
OT rates paid at 1.5x for first 3 hours and 2x for anything beyond that

Key Required Qualifications

National Certificate in Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent
Electrical Practising Licence (full registration)
Relevant industrial or marine electrical experience
Familiarity with quality assurance standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
