Junior QA Tester (Junior Quality Assurance Tester)

Job Purpose

To support software quality assurance activities by performing software testing, identifying defects, documenting issues, and ensuring applications meet business requirements and quality standards before release.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute test cases and test scenarios for software applications.
• Perform functional testing to verify system features and requirements.
• Identify, record, and track software defects and issues.
• Re-test fixes and perform regression testing after system changes.
• Assist in preparing test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Review software requirements and provide testing feedback.
• Perform user interface (UI) and usability testing.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Document test results and communicate findings to development teams.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and testing activities.
• Help improve testing processes and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of defects, test progress, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in:
• Computer Science.
• Information Technology.
• Software Engineering.
• Information Systems.
• Or a related field.

Experience Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Internship, academic projects, or practical testing experience is acceptable.
• Experience with web or mobile application testing is an advantage.

Technical Skills Required

• Basic understanding of:
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Functional and regression testing.
• Defect management processes.
• Ability to write clear test cases and test scenarios.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as:
• Jira.
• Azure DevOps.
• Bugzilla.
• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries is an advantage.
• Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman is preferred.
• Familiarity with test automation concepts is an advantage.

• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and project managers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• May involve testing web applications, mobile applications, and enterprise software systems.

Pay: $61,000.00 per year
