      Implementation Consultant Interview

      6 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Spencer, WV
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at nCino (Spencer, WV) in Jan 2025

      Interview

It started with a phone screen then an assessment. Then there was an interview with a manager to go through the assessment. After that, there was a panel interview with four Implementation Consultants, then a panel interview with their managers on the same day. I believe it was four of them also. There was about 2-3 weeks between each step of the process, so it was a very long process. All of the interviews went well until the last one where I was asked more difficult questions including to remember specific examples of when something happened. After a long wait, I received an email that I had great feedback on the technical part of the interview but there were concerns around the consulting part. It was rather confusing and insulting that after speaking with me for a short time, they were able to determine that I would not do well consulting with customers when that is what I do for my current position and have a great relationships with the banks I work with. They asked what my favorite part was and I told them that I like the configuration part the most and that's true. I'm not sure if that answer cost me the job. The sad thing is I was more qualified for this position that I could possibly be for any other position as I worked there before and was working as an Implementation Consultant since, but because I wasn't able to be charming and charismatic enough in the interview, I wasn't offered the job. It will be great when this and other companies start focusing on someone's ability to do the job over how well they are able to fool the interviewers with their great personalities. Some of us that are neurodivergent (which is a disability) may not do as well in an interview but still deserve to be successful. I can get all of the certifications and Salesforce badges that exists but still won't get hired with excuses like this given as the reason.

4 interviews in total. Every process was very pleasant, interviewers were engaging, courteous, and it felt like they really wanted to get to know you. Technical assessment rather easy for someone with good salesforce admin skills.
