I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at medchart (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2021
Interview
tl;dr This company has no respect for you and will work you to the bone and then ghost you.
Absolutely awful selection process. It started out pretty bog standard, applied and offered an interview a few weeks later. The interview was over super quick, they didn't even give me a chance to ask questions, like they had a million applicants to get through.
The next week I was told I'd be given a skills assessment. Great, usually that means like a few hackerrank questions. No, nonono, nothing so pedestrian for the illustrious medchart. They wanted us to devote an entire weekend, 48 hours, to create for them a mock website using their technology stack.
This, for the record, is highly irregular and should not be accepted by anyone. But I was naive and desperate.
So I spent the intervening week studying the things I didn't know about their technology stack. I worked full time that week and still spent more time studying. Then at the end I had to do their challenge in 48 hours. Overall I might have spent 80 hours total on this company that week, unpaid, alone, slaving away.
Anyway, you'd expect after that, the company would be pretty humbled that I'd be willing to put in that much work for them FOR FREE. You'd expect. You would expect. No, not only were they not anything like that, THEY NEVER RESPONDED AFTER I SUBMITTED THE PROJECT. Ghosted after working 80 hours for them. Absolutely shameful.
This company has absolutely no respect for its employees. It has no respect for your time. Save yourself the trouble, save yourself the humiliation, look elsewhere.
