Interview
Not 100% sure, but this was overall the process:
- Initial Screening
- Coding Challenge ( 1h )
- Tech Screening ( 1 week after )
- Soft skills, Tech skills, Experience, Leadership Interviews ( 1 week after - 4 hours )
- Systems Design ( 2 weeks after )
- Feedback session ( 4 weeks after )
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were mostly about past experiences where you can apply the STAR method for the answers.
Technical questions were mostly on the coding challenge, distributes system design and foundations on the Go Language
intial call with recruiter and then a coding assessment test. coding was leetcode medium level questions. after that was a live coding interview. for approx 1 hour and then a systems design interview for designing a payment system.
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zalando (Berlin) in Oct 2025
Interview
The interviewer was looking desperately tired and unfocused. Didn't join the interview on time. I had to find someone else to ping him to join.
The questions were generic and related. However, it took 2 weeks for the interviewer to send the results of a basic questionnaire to move forward.
I was overall hugely disappointed with that.
