Initial screening calls are a deliberate and essential part of a hiring process. While resumes provide a snapshot of experience, these conversations allow us to assess communication skills, role alignment, and overall fit.. factors that cannot be fully evaluated on paper. For this reason, recruiter screenings take place prior to hiring manager review.
Following these discussions, candidate profiles are evaluated in context of the broader applicant pool and the specific, and sometimes evolving, needs of the role. As a result, not all candidates who perform well in an initial conversation will move forward.
Additionally, role availability can change quickly as hiring processes progress. Positions may be filled or paused at short notice, even while interviews are being scheduled.
